Remember when you got your super discounted EQS, they used to have these liveries in the showroom? Maybe one set of vinyl is still available, we can wrap DJRabbi’s AMG. He loves wraps.

I would only buy it with an extended CPO or platinum type warranty from MB and with 20 inch wheels. Way too many issues (even if many are minor). I don’t bother with taking to the dealer anymore for all the sensors that randomly don’t work as long as car gets from A to B.
Another pet peeve is dealership experience, many MB dealers won’t give a loaner if you didn’t buy the car from them. I was going to a dealership 40 minutes away to get things serviced because they would provide a loaner versus the other two who are 15-20 minutes away.

I’ve got 58K miles on my EQS580 now. Be prepared for the MB dealer to work you for unnecessary maintenance. They will suggest replacing tires and brakes when they are only at 50% life. Generally my ongoing concern is MBs closed-end approach to parts and maintenance. Where-as Tesla and Hyundai use parts out of easily sourced parts bins, many Mercedes parts are exclusively manufactured for Mercedes. In addition, many repairs requiring accessing EQS maintenance modes, which many shops do not know or have the right tooling for. So you need the right Indy. A few $3K dealer bills will quickly add to the TCO.
You can look into a warranty like Xcare, but most MB dealers by me won’t take 3rd party warranties, leaving recovering reimbursement up to you and the warranty company. Mercedes extended warranties are double or triple the cost of Tesla.

Why would someone dispose of a $30k underwater EQS if they can just lemon it out?

I suppose you could try MBZ corporate to see IF they’re willing to step in given it’s a certified shop or ask them to pay another certified shop to fix it. Big if though… I’d get another estimate or two elsewhere for good measure.
Otherwise, send a certified letter to the shop with photos and those estimates saying that the car will be expected prior the the lease return and you will hold them responsible in case Mercedes decides to charge you for mismatch.

And the odd part is that the driver’s side looks opposite where bumper is darker than the quarter panel. Tell them to repaint it but flip it upside down this time, lol.
Finally got around to trying this again. Yes they now know when you unplug and plug in as I got charged for the second round. The unlimited charging gig is officially over lol. Just took them 2+ years to figure out a way to prevent it lol
I went to the regional rep location and said another shop did the work… he’s like wow that’s a terrible job… then I told him it’s one of his shops but another location. He felt super embarrassed. I already said if you cannot guarantee the work, Amex will gladly give back my money on this.. now we wait

A good friend bought a 2023 EQS as CPO (once a loaner, about $7K miles; March 2023 in-service). Is this vehicle eligible for Electrify America 2-year free-charging program ? If so, anything need to be done at/by dealership to make it happen (or would it be automatically made eligible by factory?) - of course, one way to find out is she can go try it out couple of times and see how/whether it gets charged .. but, I hate to send her running around to test/try this out multiple times.
** Looks like his VIN eligible for free home-charger - but, wouldn’t know until it shows up! We will see ..

I posted on reddit and AMG forums. All say it is a terrible job and they probably just shot it the color from the machine it makes and did not blend it in
iX is fair but you lost me at GV70.
I personally wouldn’t cross shop GV70 with EQS.
They differ so much in size, range, features, etc. and I do like GV70 quite a bit.
My manager who is a long time MB driver says that is not the case here so hopefully that wouldn’t be an issue for me. Great point about CPO and warranty though.

Don’t think it’s that simple, something else is going on: the bumper on one side is darker than the metal and lighter on the other. If they simply didn’t match, it’d be either too light or too dark on both sides.
I’d guess the program was originally activated when it first went in-service and has expired for that vehicle now.
IMO I agree with DJRabbi’s original observation that they simply picked the wrong paint mix
The original car has Diamond White on the Moroney… and this paint is extremely heavy on pearlescent.
The new bumper is very flat and seems to lack the pearlescent (either partially or completely)… which would make it the Mercedes Polar White.

Then why is it reverse on the driver’s side where the bumper is darker than quarter panel? Polar white is a flat pure bright white and it’s much lighter than diamond white which is really an off-white and heavily metallic. Seems like a bad paint job but definitely not polar white paint which would look uniformly much much lighter on both sides.

Only the first owner is eligible for a free home-charger, even those the website may accept, they will still check the ownership records on the backend.
Yeah I got insurance involved again and sent pictures and they agree also that car shouldn’t have left the shop like that. They are requesting shop to fix it PROPERLY and if they are not confident they can match it then they are going to tell me take it elsewhere and get whatever funds it takes back from the shop. I am sure this is going to hit the fan in DJ RABBI fashion as always.
