Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 2

I wonder if Tesla is somehow restricting the charge due to the charging curve of the cars.

For me on Level 2 chargers, EQS charges slower than Tesla cars. Coworkers at work get 30+ miles added per hour while the EQS barely breaks 20 miles per hour added.

Just a wild guess on my part though.

As you know Tesla overestimate the driving range, whereas eqs is pretty conservative.

Really depends on an EQS model and driving conditions. Yes, conservative at steady 40-70 mph. My AMG is wildly optimistic when most of my driving is local hillsides. My 450+ was a bit better but pulling 6,000 lbs uphill will kill the range and going same distance downhill won’t help to offset it.

I just tried one so I had it figured out before i actually take a trip and need to use one. I had gotten the official MB adapter thrown in with lease. I got way faster speeds than i did at EA and it seemed to go at a higher rate closer to 100%. I started about 60% and got up to 140kwh and about 80kwh at 90%, it dropped rapidly to 40kwn at 95%. I have to say i got a few dirty looks from some tesla drivers, like i was taking their spot.

You’re right but I was talking about charging speeds not range.

If the battery catches fire while you’re in it, then this EQE doubles as a cremation oven.

And got paid by Benz :joy:

Has anyone turned in their lease early as part of the loyalty incentive? Dealers are saying I can’t turn in early and pay the difference of months remaining since lease has to be maturing by Sept 2025 (mine matures in February 2026).

Will you get a discount on the funeral if you have their logos on your coffin?

You can get a loyalty discount if you ground your lease early.

How far under do you need to be? I hear MBZ is quite demanding with their ground rules.

Are free wall boxes over now, or can I get a third one ?

Try to put your vin here.

Doesn’t work, why I am asking. Other 2 leases had same issue but eventually worked. This lease is about 2 weeks old. I know this worked for MY23s. MY25s have a choice of limited free EA or wallbox. Do my24s not have wall box at all ?

Yes. Turned mine in 10 months early go get a new one. They waved 5 months and I owed the rest. Made sense as my new one was a crazy low monthly so I still came out way ahead by eating payments.

@JSmith is asking if doing the super early pull-ahead would make him qualify for the loyalty rebate as well, which I don’t the it does. Even for your deal, you qualified for the Reignite via a different vehicle and not your turned-in EQS.

Yeah, I took inspiration from @amaximeya on his deal but realized after it used reignite not loyalty. Loyalty dates are set and local dealers with inventory are not budging. I’m in a similar situation where I’ll have to replace another set of tires and most likely brakes by the end of my lease so trying to get out as early as possible.

Tires is a given, brakes too?

In my case, yes. They were at 6-7mm a while back.

Recently discussed rear EQS brake pad wear with the lead tech at my MB dealer. He measured out a new set of rear pads at 8mm. At 53K miles my rear brake pads are at 5.5mm down from 6mm at 43K miles. If you need brakes under 50K miles something is wrong.

As to why the rear wears faster, I’ve read that using Lane Keep Assist and Active Steering features results in excessive wear on the rear pads. Turning off these features is supposed to help. I don’t care for LKA, but AS is a must-have. If they do need to be replaced, the rear pad set is around $220.
