I don’t think you can assign the vehicle to your dad without extra steps… since technically the vehicle belongs to MBFS and you’re the only person they recognize to be a leasee.
I think you’ll need to contact. Call the Client Service Center at 1.800.654.6222.
Issue is… my brother fucked over my dad. He totaled his lambo and rolls Royce and said my dad did it. My dad was like “I don’t care as long you pay”. Renewal is coming up and no insurance company is trying to carry them.
My parents did a lot for me as a kid and still do. So I thought I’d just move his NJ lease to NC but still under his name.
So your dad’s name is on the NJ lease? If your dad is already on all the existing paperwork, you can probably just call MBFS and get this all sorted.
But you may need to complete some limited Power of Attorney crap with NJ and NC where your dad expressly grants you permission to handle this in your name… especially if your name is stuck to stuff and you’re trying to do registration on behalf of your dad.
Why he driving this EQ jelly bean if he’s normally in high end cars lol.
Cool, if you could share what diagnostic or service-verbatim was recorded on your work order, it could help others who encounter a similar event with an update freezing up the car.
I picked up my EQS 450+ lease earlier this year in May. I just got an email from Mercedes saying that my Mercedes Me Connect services are ending in November and I need to pay to resume them. This is to use the app to the remote features. You’re supposed to get a year free but it looks like the dealer activated in November of last year when it became a loaner. Shouldn’t I still get a year free from when my lease started?
I’m 99% if you contact MB-FS or MB-USA they can give you a promo/goodwill code to extend your subscription to the full year of the time you actually were the leasee.
I still can’t believe MB wants to charge for the app stuff.
I just received a quote for a 24-month one-pay lease on an executive demo car. It’s a $112,000 MSRP 450 4matic with 4800 miles, and the total cost for the lease, including everything, would be $17,934.
They want $150 for a year. I’m almost halfway through my 13 month lease, I’m not paying it.
I called today and explained the situation. Lady didn’t understand, said well you got a used loaner car, it’s when it gets activated.
Called again and played dumb. Said I bought my car in May new and I’m the first owner. She said that’s weird, looks like the dealer might have activated it when they received the car on the lot. She created a case to escalate.
