Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 1

I thought I saw somewhere that they are going to include a charger with the 2024 models? I have 2 chargers at home, so not necessarily needed. Others on their first electric purchase may think otherwise. I have never gone to a public station, but I assume they have everything needed, unless I go to a station with Tesla style plugs only.

Yeah Mercedes is including some charging equipment as standard for 2024 models based on some docs Derek shared.

Personally, I wish they’d just throw a bunch of goodwill chargers at the dealer network and allow a dealer to have a charger available to a new buyer during sales in case the buyer needs it.

  1. If the buyer is like “nah I got EVSE at home” then nothing happens.

  2. If the buyer is like “yeah that’ll help me out a lot” then they get a charger to take home.

  3. If the buyer is like “yeah but I’m gonna sell this crap on eBay” then they get a charger to take home anyway.

Because I don’t want to deal with another pile of crap in my garage, I’d just opt for #1. But I don’t understand why they never made option #2 available to Mercedes EV adopters in 2022/2023.

Haha, totally going on eBay. I have enough charging crap to keep everyone’s car in the neighborhood charged if need be. I am going to by a tesla to J1772 adapter though. That will probably come in handy some day.

Yeah I have two Tesla Gen 3 chargers and got some adaptors since I’m off the Tesla EV bandwagon (but I don’t want to trash the wall connectors).

I like the Lectron unit and these funky hooks from Amazon hold things up super easy so I don’t have to plug/unplug the adaptor.

Oh by the way the OEM Mercedes charging cable is: Charging Cable - Mercedes-Benz (000-583-39-05)

I don’t know how to get that… but it doesn’t seem to come standard in 2022 or 2023, and as far as I can tell, nobody gets this with a new purchase or lease.

so these can now be used on the tesla network too?

No, that’s for AC charging only and limited to 50 amps.

Not yet, there are some superchargers that support CCS but no where near my location.

What that poster put was a Level 2 adapter.

Question regarding the loyalty discounts.
I leased an EQS in July and love the car - I am now looking at getting an EQ for my wife as well.
I want to take advantage of some of the current offers on the EQE500 or EQS580. Is there a way I can get the loyalty discount, even if I’ve only had my EQS for 3 months?

@oarfish18 said that the loyalty code was something MB-USA would send to your email. Maybe the dealers can generate one (unlikely?), but it seems you cannot get the code on your own. The whole loyalty thing things kind of vague in terms of who/how/why you’d get a code from MB-USA.

We financed a new 2023 GLS in May 2023. I looked into getting into a EQS in July - called in to MB-USA if there was loyalty/conquest incentives on top of the normal incentives since I was leaving Trash-Tesla to go get a second MB in 3 months.

The MB-USA rep said “nope.”

New programs show that we can just pull it on our end, the lease has to expire from now until apr 2024 so meaning pretty much anyone that did a 13 months in march is eligible.

Do you know if current lessee also gets 2 years of free charging even for a 2023 demo car?

You do still get the 2 free years with a demo.

Wow, check out the list price on this 2022 AMG EQS. Is this one of ya’ll doing a 13 month lease return? hah. I’m still holding out hope my EQS will only cost me $50k to buy out at the end of the 13 months.

Something’s up. It was sold back or returned to a Mercedes dealership, but then sold/transferred to a Volkswagen dealership 3 days later. I’m betting something came up on it, where it couldn’t be CPO’d.

Otherwise, $50k depreciation in 1 year is insane

You and me both LOL

I wonder if the original owner was just desperate to get out of the car, and rolled massive negative equity into a Tiguan or something. Why lease a new 2023 AMG EQE if you can buy a non-CPO 2022 AMG EQS :stuck_out_tongue:

I just want to know how low the price on that 2022 AMG EQS needs to get before an LH user considers it. I’m going to guess $55k.

If you all want to see an example of how the EQS resids have dropped over time … check out this listing.

EQS 450+ RWD in Minnesota has got to be a rough sell. They gotta just clear this thing out for the $62k it’s probably worth at this time.

I need to register my dad’s EQS in NC but his current registration says MBFS is on it. Nothing with his name. Does this mean I can register without my dad being present?
