Hello! First-time poster here! I’ve been keeping up with the MX-30 release date and its projected to be October 14th or 15th as far as I’ve heard. Only Premium Plus spec as far as I hear; maybe a base model if you’re lucky. I’m trying to guesstimate the possible payment for this model. (I know low range etc. but it fits my use case). Its my first time with the calculator and I was wondering if I’m using it correctly. calculator link
As far as numbers go:
MSRP: roughly $38K for the Premium Plus trim
10K/36 months
Residual: 53.3% (guesstimate based on the international model’s residual)
MF: 0.001 (the calculator’s default; I don’t have an accurate number for this)
MSD: 9
$750 of Loyalty Cash
$9000 untaxed incentive ($7500 Federal EV credit + $1500 CCFR)
$2000 post sale rebate (CA CVRP)
all other fees and taxes calculator default
I just want to know I’m using this calculator correctly and whether this guess (or someone else’s suggested numbers would be a good lease deal)
You don’t get to guess things like rv and mf. They are what they are and won’t be known until programs are available.
Also, at this point it is not clear if Mazda will pass on a $7500 incentive equivalent to the federal tax credit (leases do not get the tax credit, only whatever incentive the bank passes on) and as of Nov 2, ccfr is only $750, so depending on delays, you may be listed there.
I also wouldn’t assume a non-marked up sales price in this market on a brand new model.
Yeah, I’m more …speculating? If you or anyone else might have a better idea of what RV and MF would be, I’d definitely like to hear it. I’m assuming Mazda will pass on the Fed credit (I mean most EV lessors are right?). I’m also hoping Mazda read the room and won’t mark up a car that was basically panned by every reviewer, commenter, etc. I guess we’ll see but I’ll definitely be happy to see a good deal for the little city runner with a really nice interior.
At this point, I’d rather have a comfy MX-30 with a 100-mile range that I can charge nightly than a 259-mile Bolt EV that can’t be charged unsupervised, if I had a commute.
Unfortunately, without more information, it’s all just a shot in the dark. There isn’t really a practical way to work out what they’re likely to use for rv/mf.
Also, there are several brands that do not pass on the fed credit on leases, so you never know.
Initial batch of EVs for Fall 2021 will be CA only, with a later release of (presumably minimum numbers) EVs and (larger numbers) REx versions nationwide sometime in 2022.
