I got some preliminary leasing numbers from my local Mazda dealer and I gotta know, am I insane or is Mazda smoking something to be charging $520/month for a 10k/36 MX-30 lease?
Don’t worry, it’s actually $565/mo after that das.
I am in no way surprised by these numbers. Hell, it wouldn’t have shocked me of they were higher.
Don’t forget that since this is through Toyota financial that you’ll want to add gap insurance as well, pushing that price higher.
I can’t fathom why anyone would ever consider one of these.
Yeah I’ll have a chat with the dealer, but now this is pushing me right toward Legends and that Niro EV they got right now.
No surprise whatsoever. Why would they try? Because they can. And there are rubes who will gladly pay this price, thinking it’s a ‘deal’ because it’s a cool new EV and they’d love to be the first person on their block to drive one. In a few years time, dealers will have to give these away.
Kinda embarrassing they even brought it to market.
The Mazda USA website has the following lease terms:
36 months/10K miles
$279/month with $2999 due at signing
Lease offer ends November 1st.
I would think the dealer could offer better terms?
Carsdirect reports this is the lowest cost lease for a Mazda.

numbers seem to be for a base model, which I imagine no dealer has right now. All their inventory will likely be the $40K MSRP Premium models (not to mention dealer markups). Even then, the price is higher than what the Kia Niro EV EXs are going for from the local SoCal brokers.
The Mazda website does not have those terms.
It’s that with the giant asterisk
Excludes taxes, fees, dealer add on. Dealer sets final price.
Bare minimum add a couple thousand dollars just to get to what the Mazda advertised deal actually is.
One of the dealers I contacted before got back to me again wondering if I was still interested. They gave me a new offer. I told them no.
