Mazda CX-90 PHEV Prefered

Just signed a lease on a 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV Preferred with an MSRP of $52,500. I put down a $3,375 refundable security deposit to reduce the money factor and opted for a $370 sign-and-drive deal. I also qualified for Mazda Loyalty from my previous 2024 CX-90, which I returned five months early.

My new monthly payment is $440. Through Mazda’s Pull-Ahead Program, they covered up to $1,000 of the remaining payments, though I still had to pay $1,200 for early termination.

Originally, my target was 8% off MSRP, but due to tight inventory and timing, I settled for 6% off. I decided to move forward because I’ve never seen this level of incentives on the CX-90 PHEV Preferred before. Inventory is extremely limited, and the $7,500 federal credit is expected to phase out in the next few months.

While I didn’t get my first-choice color, I’m overall very satisfied—especially with the monthly payment. The dealership was 240 miles away, but it was well worth the trip.

So far, during my long drive, I haven’t noticed major MPG savings. Based on my calculations, public charging doesn’t make much financial sense with gas at $2.55/gallon. I test-drove the 2024 PHEV when it first came out, and it seems Mazda has made significant improvements since then.

I’m currently tracking 7k miles over the 20k allowed and about 9 months out. Considering similar options. Not a huge fan of the '24 so I’m curious what you like better about the '25?

I got my 2024 ICE in November 2023, and while I was shopping for that, I test drove the PHEV. The switching between gas and EV was sluggish, and the transmission was acting crazy during my test drive. So far, those issues seem fixed.
I kept looking for a pull-ahead program, and the email came exactly as soon as I had six payments left. My experience is that if you have any questions about a pull-ahead program, ask for a lease-end specialist when you call; their general customer care representatives are not familiar with that.

The '24 is one quirky car. I like the looks, but agree the shifting is super rough. Driving in ‘normal’ mode when they battery is drained is a painful experience, I always swap it to sport. Lots of other stuff but I don’t need to clutter the thread with it.
