Looking for best deal on Chevy Equinox

Hoping to find something by Wed. when we have to return the rental…
We’ve decided on an Equinox, really like the '18. Would like to get the premiere for safety features, but I highly doubt that’s happening. Yes, I realize I’m probably trying to get too good of a deal, but gotta try, right?

  • I should have $1500 coming to me from insurance, which is all we would have for out the door.
  • Can’t go over $250/mo would like to stay closer to $200 if at all possible.
  • Credit score almost exactly 700
  • Don’t qualify for incentives that I can think of.

Thanks in advance,
Argus

EDIT: Forgot to add, zip of 45840 (Northwest Ohio) Close to Michigan and Indiana

I think it’s going to be really tricky to get the 2018 Equinox at that price. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to get a FWD LT with no options at that price, but that’s based on what I’ve seen in NJ. The incentives on it aren’t that good from what I’ve seen. The Premier is definitely not going to happen sadly. Good luck in your search! I’m considering the 2018 to replace my 2016 in December

I really didn’t figure the Premiere would happen, but I like to dream big  Searching around dealer sites, I’ve seen several different FWD LT, but they all vary so widely I don’t know what to believe.

More searching has revealed some places listing the FWD Premiere as a lower sales price than the FWD LT.

i work at a chevy store in central MI. thats a tough deal to find if not impossible. do you qualify for lease loyalty? family discount? if you dont have a family discount your not going to find that price range, now a 2017 equinox. that could be a different ball game. but again, all depends on what you qualify for. 2018 equinox has $750 standard rebates and unless you get a GMS number from family and/or lease loyalty(only $500) your going to land north of 350 maybe even 400, doesnt matter the dealership. no dealership will pay someone to drive their car away.

give me some details and id be glad to run you a lease to tell you what youll find. On monday that is  and yes we are willing to honor any deal. volume game

I was quoted $280 plus tax on a 18 LT MSRP of 28k with $1k outta pocket competitive lease lease cash 2250 in rebates

BASE LT with 1500 comp and that standard 750. most people want that first package to grab some of the features with a power lift. looks like a solid number

Home from the dealer, best deal he could give me was $2000 out the door, 307/month, 10k/year 48 month on an 18 LT

Sounds good to me, but what do you think?

3% off MSRP is good? Guess you haven’t learned anything since being on these forums.

Terrible deal. You need to get way more off than that. Go somewhere else.

I bought into the salesman’s tactics and thought since I don’t qualify for any incentives that it was actually good. The $307 was with his manager supposedly getting me employee discount.

I’m running out of time, and will be without a car after Wednesday, so would anyone care to help me figure out a way of getting a better deal?

Are you opposed to getting a 2017 Equinox? I’m sure you could get a great deal in a bonus tagged one? It might be a good idea to just to extend your rental a few more days till you find a good lease vs. rushing it. Are you considering any other brands?

I did consider the 17, but it was only $8/month cheaper, didn’t seam worth it.
As for other brands, we looked at several, but they all seemed to be more expensive.

Wow, I would think they would want to get rid of the 2017 with the 2018 models on the lot. Have you tried to email several dealers in your area? I usually go online and look for the bonus tagged ones and kick off a quick email. When I was looking for a 2017 Equinox LS for a friend, the prices ranged from 238 to 435 for 0 down for the same exact car! That’s a huge spread. Defiantly have to shop your area, email is a great time saving tool. I reached out to 18 different dealers on my lunch break. Just copy and paste what you want and fire an email.

I have not emailed anywhere yet, that’ll be my next step when I get home. I tried telling him about the specials on other sites, but they were dismissed because of not qualifying for rebates.

What is it with 48 month leases? Might as well buy the car at that point.

I’d aim for a shorter term. Don’t want to have a lease that is out of warranty. 3 year 36,000 miles would be the max for Chevy that you would want to lease.

I go to the dealers website, find an Internet managers email address and send this:

Been getting quotes online from other dealers. This is what we need:

Stock# 18377
24 Month Lease
15k Miles a year
0 drive off
Zip 92704
Excellent Credit

Please let me know what numbers you come up with.

Thanks,

I drill down the MF and rebates, etc. after but that should be a good starting point.

You couldn’t locally replicate the $165 CRV deal?

No haggle, standard rebates that everyone gets. Unless you have bad credit you can easily get a 3/36 for $300 a month

I honestly forgot about that one, too many numbers and models in my head right now.
