Less heavy SUVS!?!

You caught us. We’re authoritarian bigots because we don’t think G wagons and F350s should be subsidized.

You are not subsidizing anything. This is money that was taken from the individual tax payer and given back to them. The less money this bloated govt gets the better. Taxing labor is theft, was meant to be temporary to fund a war, and was made permanent to fund the military industrial complex. None of these taxes help the average American, our military budget and interest on the national debt almost exactly equals federal income tax revenue each year. Not a coincidence.

Thank you, they take your money and give a small portion back and call it a subsidy.

Why are we talking about individual income tax in regards to section 179 business deductions?

Telling people what they can and can’t own is fascism, I immigrated from a fascist country, so I know yall playbook very well, they also said controlling what people can buy and use is good for society mumbo jumbo. Come hell or high water I will not allow that crap to ever pass in the USA.

yall anti suv/car (domestic terrorist) crowd makes me laugh, as I said I have been reading and learning about yall for a while, and I’m happy to report this crap yall trying to pull aint going to happen near me. The numbers don’t lie.

Lmao thank you for fighting the good fight brother. Freedom starts and ends with whether someone gets a tax rebate on their G wagon or not.

Sole proprietors can’t take that deduction as an individual?

Businesses with business deductions can apply it to their taxes, in whatever way their business taxes are handled.

so you are comparing business deductions you can use for anything to getting a made up G wagon subsidy directly? are you mentally challenged?

When did I say Audi isn’t luxury? they are one of the big 3 luxury car makers.

You meant to say Volvo right?

If it is purely about safety and weight of vehicles.

Then we should stop building heavy BEV/PHEV. They are typically by far the heaviest versions of every vehicle segment.

Let’s save the inflammatory language for the dealers habibi. We have the same name, we shouldn’t be fighting.

I call it a subsidy, you call it a Section 179 deduction for SUVs over 6000 GVWR with at least 50% business use capped at $28900.

Does it make sense that a business owner using their car for 100% business is incentivized to buy a $60k 6000lb SUV to deduct a max of $29k, vs buying a $60k smaller car and only being able to deduct a max of $11k? I don’t think it does. You might disagree, and that’s fine.

Everyone should drive whatever they want. All I’m saying is there shouldn’t be extra incentive to buy a larger car when the car is gonna be used for the exact same purpose (someone driving themselves around for work). Section 179 is already written to allow full deduction for dedicated work vehicles where the size is necessary, like vans.

The movers and shakers don’t want to change it. They could do it, and have not: They won’t.
