Hybrid is not a trim. It’s an engine type. You can get the XLE trim in both gas and hybrid form. For the Platinum trim, you can get it in gas or Hybrid MAX form.
Why do you need hybrid if you’re only using 5k miles per year?
Because regular power train is gutless dog. Hybridmax is the way to go on these.
With a well-bought Toyota hybrid it makes sense. Between gas savings and value retention, your total cost of ownership hardly increases.
Does anyone have any other contact besides Jim R that I can reach out to for deals? He hardly response to my message on Facebook chat.
Did you try to text him? His numbers on his thread here.
You are buying too much vehicle for your budget. With no money down, the monthly payments are astronomical. Anything over $600/mo is expensive. Your wife needs to lower her expectations. Good luck in your search.
I finally have his number and have been in touch with him—responses have been quicker. Thanks.
I suggested @Ryan_S to you earlier. He’s in TX
Has anyone purchased a vehicle through Jim R.? If so, what was their experience like?
Each broker / dealer has a review thread on here including Jim, which you can look over in depth. Edited to add link when I was back in front of the computer.
Ok thanks. I’ll check it out.
I got a great deal through Jim R. and am now working with the dealer on the financing terms and down payment. Do you guys typically put anything down when buying?
I think the answer can vary greatly, depending on the interest rate and what your cash flow is (or what you want it to be).
I’m working on leasing a $65k Lexus TX - which is as you know the same car but better. I’ve gotten payments in the high $800s/low $900s for a premium trim. PM me - you’ll need to use a broker though.
If you scroll up a few posts it indicates he secured the vehicle using a broker.
My bad. Was looking on my phone and didn’t see the whole thread.
Some banks require 10% down to get the best rate. Not sure if TFS is doing that.
