It has become cheaper to eat fast food instead of buying supermarket items. I have been waiting for everything to take a huge dump and a step back down to reality, but it’s not happening. People are still over paying for houses, cars, rent, food. The rate hikes are making some kind of impact, but it’s not enough, people have too much damn money and don’t care.
Not so sure, I paid $44 for a sandwich and half, bowl of soup and two small Mac and cheeses in Panera yesterday!
(oh two bottles of water too, sharing those between 4 now!)

Sure. If you have a time machine, you can go back to pre-pandemic times. Most manufacturers do not need to incentivize leasing since there are still supply chain issues.
FWIW, folks can choose not to lease. There are other options out there, such as not buying a new car or financing one that retains its value well
