[Lease Transfer] 2017 BMW i3 REX $210/month or $7 per day!

,

Hey guys, my family is about to grow and will be needing a car that can seat more people. I’ve got 8 months remaining on my lease.

My 2017 i3 Rex Giga World trim still have 9100 miles left on the lease, lease expires 2/9/2020. buyout amount of $32,278. In absolutely mint condition. No bumper scuffs, dings, or curb rash!

nearly 8 months remaining - lease ends 2/9/2020
9100 miles left
NO monthly payment
Just $500 for lease transfer fee + $7/day for whatever number of days left in the lease paid to me.

Car has:
19" rims
mobility kit
rear view camera
homelink garage door opener
comfort access keyless entry
DC fast charging
heated front seats
parking distance control
navigation
sirius xm

I’m located in Bellmore, NY. Pick up only.

I spoke with BMW financial services. Since this was a one-pay lease (I paid all the lease payments in one shot up front) whoever assumes the lease will have absolutely NO MONTHLY PAYMENTS. I’ve done the math with how much I paid for it for the length of the term. It breaks down to only $7/day.

If anyone is interested in assuming the lease, the process takes ~3 weeks from start to finish and will cost $1498 including everything. This amount will be paid to me directly (or $500 to BMW FS for the transfer and the remainder to me for the time left on the vehicle).

In sum, TAKE OVER THIS LEASE FOR $7/DAY. Anyone who is interested, PM me. Thank you!

If I didn’t already have too many cars, I would take this in a second. I’ve had four of these cars in the past and have loved them all. At $1498 for eight months use, the effective cost is about $187 a month. For someone in a low power cost area, the savings on gasoline would make this practically free.

This should swap quickly…Even in the LH crowd!

Yes, you really can’t get this car any cheaper than this. I would keep driving it until the end of the lease myself if I didn’t need something bigger!

I’m interested. In VA. Does this i3 have Ranger extender? Is there additional cost upon end of lease to return to dealer? Ty!

$350 disposable fee if you don’t buy the car (that’s hilarious) or lease another Bmw. Also with the plastic panels on these things small dings turn into serious $ at turn in. They don’t go by the return rules of the regular bmws.

Source?

Ive returned four i3 and the rules were identical to other BMWs I lease returned. The same “ding o meter” applied.

This is the i3 REX. Contract states $350 disposition fee but this is highly waivable, especially if you buy/lease another bmw at lease end

actually the plastic panels are a plus. they aren’t as susceptible to door dings as metal panels. You can search videos on this and other i3 owners will vouch to this.

conano doesn’t know what he’s talking about (on this subject at least)

Yes less door dings but Bmw doesn’t charge you for those on turn it.

This guy didn’t have a good experience at turn in of his i3.

Maybe it was just an overzealous dealer but the guy I linked didn’t even get a ding o meter which led me to believe there were different rules.

That’s what my pre-inspection guy exactly said: “i3 is MORE susceptible for dings and bmw is LESS stringent.” … It did not make sense to me either…

“300 bucks for rear bumper and 600$ for front.”
I know the body panels of the i3 is fiberglass but i thought the bumpers are same plastic material as the rest of BMW. If that’s the case why would it be any more expensive than regular BMWs?

Exactly. The purpose of the thermoplastic exterior (which is innovative, all other BMW’s and most other cars for that matter have a steel exterior which is easier to damage) is that it makes the car less susceptible to dents and door dings. Just find a good dealer to inspect it, turning in an i3 should be an easy process.

Looking at the pics in the other post it looks like some sort of foam that seems to deform easily and doesn’t pop back out, where a regular car is just hard plastic bumper covers.

Can’t find any info on this anywhere…but check out what BMW says about it:
“The BMW i3 is the first BMW ever, in which the entire outer skin is made of plastic. Only the roof is made of recycled CFRP. The parts are by half lighter than steel and at the same time a corrosion-free surface protection, which can be produced energy-saving. The material is also insensitive to minor damage. 25 percent of the materials used for the thermoplastic outer parts are either recycled or made from renewable resources.”

I’d be interested in this.
What’s the total cost? Is it $1498 all together as you said, or $1498 + $500 lease transfer fee = $1998?

How do we get the process started - what are the next steps?

Total cost, including EVERYTHING. $1498

PM me for process.

Update:

I currently have 5+ people seriously interested in proceeding with the process.

Will keep everyone posted on the turn out

This is a great car. Whoever takes the lease over will enjoy it immensely. Also a perfect timeframe since at the end of the eight months you’ll want to upgrade to a model with more electric range, but the 2017 already has a 50% bigger battery than the original model so it should be perfectly adequate especially during the summer months when electric range will be well over 100 miles.
