My '23 Jeep GC 4xe lease is up, and I’m trying to just get back into another one. The dealer I was able to work with last time to get a really nice deal doesn’t have an '24s on the lot. There aren’t a ton around, but I’ve found a few. One of the closest dealers has one listed, but is just adamant that my numbers (from the calculator) are “very” wrong.

@misterGoober I ask every time for that exact reason. So many places just make a “dealer discount” out of incentives.
They assured me that the $8650 was a dealer discount and not built from incentives.
I had found a lot of dealers adding the incentives into the dealer discount and those that list them separately when i get number don’t actually offer that number because they say that discount is for purchasing and includes the 7500 tax incentive. A lot of BS and game playing i reached out to one dealer that was listing a 12k discount on top of incentives and they would not provide any numbers unless i came down to the dealership, they took my info and ghosted me
Don’t stuck with only one of the parameters in the huge equation. Would you really care if they mark up MF but increase the discount? I guess not.
Maybe their discount includes rebates, maybe they mark up MF, maybe they use CCAP because they’re in love with Santander. Like others said, this is a waste of time.
If you think your numbers are fair and achievable, make your offers. If the dealer accepts, perfect. If they send a fair counter, that’s good, play the ball. If neither, it’s time to move on.
one quick note. AFAIK SFS has their acquisition fee at $995 for most vehicles. I’d use that in your numbers, so that way it’s one less thing for them to gripe at you about.
But very few CDJR dealers know how to work a lease, and strangely enough I talked to a handful when I was shopping a couple of months ago that didn’t even do leases - not because they couldn’t but because they wouldn’t. So be prepared to just make them an offer as politely as you can, and expect many to come back with the “numbers are way off”, “I’d have 7 in my driveway if I could sell them for that”, etc. etc. etc. It took me following up with the GM at a dealer a couple of weeks later when they still had the car in stock and politely asking if we could try to figure out a way to make it work, and then it took me over a week to work through the numbers with them. When I showed it to them and they saw how much they actually could make (or at least limit losses) by leasing, they are trying to do more leasing now where they hadn’t done any in the past.
So be patient, and realize that you’re not dealing with a luxury brand that is used to this.
I was engaging with a CDJR dealer in Maryland and had a similar experience. Nearly a week to put together a lease quote that ended up being dogshit anyway
I think we’re all in the same boat. There are deals to be had, but CDJR dealers are just clueless. I was willing to up my offer last month by $1k so the dealer can make something, but they kept messing up the lease, secretly increasing the MF etc. One dealer insisted that I would be better off purchasing and couldn’t even come close to calculating the lease correctly … aren’t they just plugging number into a calculator just like us?!?
So far, they’ve been the absolute worst dealer network to deal with
Just to add to the ‘Jeep dealers are dumb’ train: I’ve had my GC 4xe for over a month, the dealer called last week to have me complete a new contract because of how bad they messed it up. So, I got one extra month free, which is nice. 25 months, pay for 24.
