Hi guys

Not really.
You are just setting yourself up for worse selection by waiting.
What mystery car are you waiting on?
If I am not mistaking, usually its just one Nov/Dec program
The only real answer is that no one knows.
Why, do you factories stop making cars?
Actually, they do take a holiday break as I understand it however when everything’s on sale people will naturally pick the best equipped units first and what gets left behind is what people who wait will have to pick from.
You snooze you lose!
Specifically, in the case of BMW and their 39 month lease program that is reducing prices anywhere from 50-90/mo depending on the car, they are not allowing that special program to be locked past Dec 31, so the example is basically this:
“Hi, I’d like whatever BMW with these specs”
“Great, here is the car you want for (stupid discount and) a great price”
“I think if I wait I can get a better deal”
3 weeks go by
“Hi do you still have that BMW that was exactly what I wanted?”
“No, sold it to someone else”
“Can I custom order? I have time”
“Sure, but now you can’t get the 39 month lease program, and the payment will go up X per month”
“Oh but that’s not fair I waited until the last week of December for the best deal!”
Hence:
I say this not to sell cars, they’re going to sell anyway, but because I cannot tell you how many people last year told me they “can wait for a better deal”, as if 10-12% off combined with a non-lockable 39 month program wasn’t good enough, and then lost the car they wanted.
Speaking of 39 months, does the bmw i5 have the same program or 36 is the residual sweet spot
39 only for Gas and PHEV variants.
Unless you’re hunting a Lincoln Navigator… there are thousands of this junk piled everywhere. Like 270 days supply. Listing for 15% off.
I think he meant a car you actually would want.
It’s a pretty easy lesson in life:
If you want cheap, you take what you can get.
If you want to choose, get ready to pay for more.
True regardless of where you’re from or what you’re buying!
That sounds like it makes sense, doesn’t it?
Sounds reasonable, right?
You would think so, wouldn’t you?
Have a happy thanksgiving dude
More and folks are looking for that unicorn. Where can I find one? lol
I’m gonna go out on a limb and venture a guess that yes, you should be able to get a better deal in December. Come January 2024’s will be old. Inventory is moving slowly. Dealers will be trying to reach year end numbers.
I bit the bullet and got the best deal I could (for something I would actually want to drive) on a 5 seater for myself in November. My prior lease ended in October and I was renting. I’ve been waiting until December to get a 7 seater for my wife (we own her current car). Specifically looking at the 2025 XC90.
You’re either shopping the deal or shopping the car. Very rarely will the stars align and you get both. Will waiting until December allow you to score a really good deal? Maybe. Will it be on the exact car you want? Probably not. So the answer to your question will depend on whether the car you really want is available now or not. If it is, it’s probably a good idea to secure it now. If it’s not, and you just don’t care for the color/specs and only want a good deal, then maybe it makes sense to roll the dice and lock something up in December.
What is the old saying? He who hesitates is lost…
You could wait but waiting for that “perfect” car slowly disappears.
I see GW that were 18K off just last week but now it is over 28K off at same dealer. Again, depends which vehicle. GW are terrible cars and no one wants them. RV is terrible on it, not even worth it.
