Inspection report. GM Financial Lease return. Does it look fair?

Experts, need some suggestions please.

Some of the scratches on the car are so hard to see. Does this report/charges look fair? Is there a way to negotiate or just pay and get it over with? I only used 40% of mileage allowed, can i use that to negotiate with GM financial? please suggest.

Overall summary $678.95

I’d say you’re lucky they only hit you for $678. That car is in rough shape and well beyond normal wear and tear.

I don’t believe GM offers any credit for unused mileage. If you leased another GM vehicle you might be able to try and get some of this knocked down, but my guess is you’re SOL.

My advice is to consider excess wear and tear on your next lease.

got it. most of those bumper damages are on the underside of the bumper, that you cannot see normally. Scratches on the body are hard to see too. This was my first lease, so a good learning experience from now on.

If you lease another GM vehicle, they’ll waive $500 of damage

Most of the captives will check for damage on the underside of the bumper panels because folks frequently scrape/crack the heck out of them on curbs and parking blocks.

They haven’t offered that since February AFAIK.

I thought it was the over mileage waiver that was eliminated. I could easily be mistaken though

It used to be $500 damage/miles.

That’s what happened here, got scratched from the curbs. It was a super cheap lease, so i don’t mind much. I think I paid $70/m effectively, then if i add gas savings, you can say it costed maybe $40/m. $700 of damages isn’t bad then. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks. Something to look out for next time. Already got i3 to replace this one now.

Usually, how much is the wear and tear insurance? and how much does it cover?

This applies to GM leases exclusively. Have read and heard all the horror stories about the treatment. Im so glad i just traded mine in to carmax and walked away from it. Between these charges and the hefty dispo fees, sheesh.

oh, i forgot I have to pay dispo fees at end too. From what I know it’s usually always $350 .

Not for GM Sir.

I see. Just checked my lease document I had in my email. It’s $395.

Oh well you are still lucky. My wifes $140 buick had a $495 fee  and Cadillac is $595.

If the mileage is low, and from the looks of the super low payment, im guessing due to heavy rebates from good ol days, you might want to check with carmax, vroom or carvana to see what they offer vs your loan payoff. You never know.

I think it’s $350 on my i3.

Anyone know if I can return the lease at nearby dealer, or do I have to go to the same dealer 30 miles away!

Any same brand dealer.

I checked on autotrader, it gave me an instant offer of $6k. Lease buyout price is $10.5k.
Will check carmax, vroom, carvana too. thanks

Fyi, autotrader’s instant offer is just an instant scam. Its just your nearby local dealers trying to lowball you.
Stick with the ones i mentioned for a much better offer hopefully.
