How to tell if leasehackr marketplace deals are scams?

The answers to many of these questions are easily found with some quick searches.
And I suspect they’re also covered in a lot of the individual broker review threads.

Here’s a thing brokers apparently won’t do :face_with_tongue:

could not quite find a single thread with the whole process end to end. If there is it might be a useful thread to “pin” somewhere for everyone’s benefit

Broker agreement includes selling price = MSRP but the 1800 dollar discount is not listed anywhere, the DAS and monthly is also not listed anywhere.

And it takes 2-3 days to conclude the deal so the usual CA cool off period would have expired.

Also the expiry date for the broker agreement is left blank so he has infinite time to hold on to your deposit and find the car.

@IAC What’s the point of the website if it only has links to FB and Instagram pages :joy:

All these questions can be answered by the broker.

Impossible bc every brokers process is different. Some have the process listed into heir 1st post, some have it in their website. Again, ask the broker.

Bonus tip: when brokers see these posts and/or you are deemed to be a pain in the ass customer (not saying you are OP, just a general statement) they have every right to decline your business. Keep that in mind.

Since you’ll be doing this research, maybe you could create this?

As noted, the specifics will be different for every broker. But some of the high level topics (SSN, payment, working with dealer, etc.) should be similar enough to be able to offer advice.

Ditto. And they talk amongst themselves… just like we do :winking_face_with_tongue::joy::joy::joy:

The community essentially relies on people who have used the broker to leave positive or negative feedback. Trusted Hackers/Moderators have not had personal business transactions with every broker/dealer on this site. Hence, the feedback given by those who have is important.

If I remember correctly, when I did broker deals I was sent a link from the dealer to do the credit app with my SS#

ok with them talking. maybe they can be clearer up front and everyone can save time. would save them time too…

Wait, so what DOES the broker agreement say?

Was the deal in question one that was listed on the broker’s LH Marketplace ad? Monthly and estimated DAS are required.

I don’t know if this question was ever answered but are you working with a broker that is on this forum?

That’s ideal, but I’m betting that a majority won’t accept this option

This has been asked a few times. I believe @hackr11 hasn’t answered this question.
It would be good if he can directly ask these questions from the brokers he is contacting.

Due to the lack of details forthcoming I’d say we should just lock this one up and if op returns with additional info we can reopen.

Let’s give them a couple of hours to respond.

I assumed OP was talking about a broker posting on LH based on the thread title, but…

Let’s keep this highly-valuable and productive thread going pls. It’s great to show people as an explainer of how much LH has fallen off. Threads like this are truly the AI slop of car buying.

I’m actually more interested in whether OP was ever talking about a LH broker or not since I think it important (vital, actually) to the conversation, and OP for some reason has not yet clarified.
