How to negotiate with Cadillac dealers

I would pay 0 attention to any price listed on their website. It doesnt need to even enter the conversation.

No need to ask anything when making offers. ā€œHere is my offer, if you accept I can be there in x hours to take delivery.ā€

We ended up leasing a Vistiq Sport in the Houston area. My wife liked the larger size and the 3rd row compared to the Lyriq. We were able to negotiate 10% off the MSRP plus the $2k conquest for a brand new / non-loaner vehicle which worked out to $839/mo. (They just started hitting dealer lots about 2 weeks ago.)

Not sure about DFW dealers, but Houston area dealers do seem to be negotiating. Could be worth the 500 mile round trip to work a deal in Houston or use a Houston dealer as leverage.

Don’t waste your time and effort by trying to ā€œeducateā€ the sales staff. The vast majority have no idea how a lease works and you’re not going to be the one to educate them. As others have said, email your proposal to the right person and let them make the decision.

This thread is not sufficiently different from OP’s last ā€œhow to negotiateā€ thread. Merging would save us a lot of repetition.

What is the difference between these two types of incentives for loaners one being $2500 and other being $1000?

2500 is rebate for the car being a loaner.
1000 is EV supplier allowance, if you or your spouse works at company that qualifies as a supplier. https://www.gmsupplierdiscount.com/

Since we are in mid April 2025 what sort of offer should I present on a remaining 2024 Lyriq that is sitting on a dealer’s lot? Looking to get a Lux2 with MSRP around $71K. Is offering $10K discount from MSRP before incentives a good starting point? I only qualify for the $3K conquest, but if I can find a decent loaner then possibly another $2500.

ask them if they can put it through loaner program, there is a lease rebate of $2500 and also a dealer incentive of $2000 when it is out of lease program.

Inventory on trim 2 2024 is quite low in TX.

They can do that with a remaining brand new unit that only has a few miles? So if I request this one to be put thorough loaner program does that mean then we wait until it racks up some miles before they can then sell that car as a loaner? What would be incentive to dealer to put a particular new vehicle as a loaner instead of selling it as a new unit with higher sale price?

Depends if they have capacity to put it into a loaner program. Qualification has been reduced to 10 days and 250 miles which is not much. it’s still a new car when put into loaner, its not titled yet as far as i know.

Incentive to dealer is $2000 dealer incentive

This $2000 dealer incentive is money the dealer gets from manufacturer for putting car in loaner and not something that is passed on to us correct? We get the $2500 incentive if we lease a loaner.

Yes, its up to the dealer if they want to pass on dealer incentive , but know they have it. Car needs to pass out from loaner program. Am not sure if 250 miles or 2000 miles qualify it.

So if a dealer’s website shows it as ā€œRetired Service Loanerā€ does that mean it is ready to be sold and I should put in an offer and it would qualify for additional $2500 incentive? Just not sure what sort of discount off MSRP I should offer…is $10K off a 2024 loaner not too off?
