How to Lease a Cadillac LYRIQ for $399/Month with $0 Down

Would it be the correct approach to send something like this:

"Dear Cadillac Sales Team,
I hope this message finds you well.

I am located in XXXX, TX (zip code XXXXX), and I am inquiring about the Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 2 listed under stock number XXXXX.

I’m interested in leasing this vehicle and would like to submit an offer for your consideration. I’d like to offer a $17K for one pay lease based on 24/15k terms.

If this offer aligns with your pricing, I’m ready to visit and finalize the lease paperwork either today or within the next few days, depending on your availability.
I’m looking forward to your reply and hope to drive off in the Lyriq soon!"

I would add 'I currently qualify for x, y, and z incentives and am in zip code xxxxx for x% sales tax. My offer is contingent on tier 1 approval"

IMO you are giving them the opportunity to say no or negotiate further with the line below. Personally, I would end with with the previous paragraph. And of course, like Matt said, give all the details up front and not try to negotiate one by one.

i shopped every dealer in texas online and landed on an AWD tech loaner for $250/month, 10K miles, 24 month lease. $0 Down, $63K MSRP. Late october. 1st payment from me at signing, and i sat my ass at home and made them drive 240 miles to deliver the car to me.

Personally, i had no problem telling their new car mgrs and GSM’s on the phone and email to give me the biggest loser and loss leader all month and blow a unit out and give me the car. I told them to bleed so bad that they would never take a loser like that for the next 3 months on any car deal so that my deal couldnt be replicated. I started off at $179 a month and they were at $300 with zero down. I rolled the dice and yelled at them for wasting my time…They called me 2 weeks later and then when they came down to $250, i didnt flinch and took the deal. Needless to say i probably had another $1000 or so i could have gotten out of them but i said screw it and agreed. 3 days later november programs came out and with costco my same deal would have been $200 becasue MF was better and costco came out. WHo knows maybe the car would have been there, maybe not.

I did have my worksheet and depreciation calculations all shown so they knew i wasnt just talking out of my ass. I

in my years of leasing, ive found at the end of the day whatever you say its up to the dealer whether they want to take a major loser or not…half the game is numbers and knowing that and the market pricing (becasue moment you drive off the car is used and depreciated), and the other half is mental and not knowing what their sales volume position is where they are desperate to just get rid of it. Ive been trying for last 2 weeks to get in $200s for another 4-5 cars and was kicked out of dealerships even with my contract lol. They were just not interested.

Here is the new draft of an offer I sent this morning. (I know the Educator rebate will not stack, but added since It’s EVERYTHING I qualify for) According to the LH calc, The monthly comes to $388 so I just rounded up.

they already have the vehicle discounted to 5% off, they just need to bring it down 4% more. I’m hoping…

This dealer is 4 miles from me, and this city is hard to deal in, but I’m giving it a shot.

"Hi Davie,

I hope this message finds you well.

I wanted to inquire again about the White Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 2 listed under stock number [XXXX].

I noticed this unit has over 5,500 miles as a retired loaner, and I assume your dealership would like to move the Lyriq soon. I’m interested in leasing this vehicle and would like to submit an offer for your consideration.

24 month / 10,000 mile lease for $390/m (including tax) with $1000 DAS using the GM Card sign and spend promotion for a $500 rebate.

In addition, to the GM Card and $2500 CCR rebate for retired loaners, I qualify for the following rebates:

  • Friends and Family Supplier
  • Conquest
  • Costco
  • Educator Discount

These should add up to $8500 in rebates.

For taxes, my zip code is 33176.

If this offer aligns with your pricing, I’m ready to visit and finalize the lease paperwork either today or within the next few days, depending on your availability.
I’m looking forward to your reply and hope to drive off in the Lyriq soon!

Thanks"

quick question - what is “CCR rebate for retired loaners” ?

If the Lyric is a loaner. (Used as a courtesy vehicle at the dealership) It gets an added $2,500 rebate.

On top of the dealer discount? Here is what I am looking at now at one of the dealers: (it is Lux 2 Courtesy Transportation Vehicle, 2k miles)

You’ll need to ask the dealer precisely what that dealer discount includes. They might be including the CCR in the discount online.

I’d say that one might be an excellent lead to look further into.

I contacted 16 Dealerships. Of those, I contacted 7, taking others’ advice and being direct to the point: " This is my price." One Sales Manager emailed back, agreeing to the deal and asking when I could take delivery on a Blue Luxury 2 Loaner for $440/m $1000 DAS.

Not my preferred Trim. I want a Sport 2. (I like the black chrome accents and grill much better.) Luckily it looks like they have a black Sport 2 I didn’t notice when I originally contacted them.

I can’t take delivery until my family member, with the GM supplier discount, takes delivery of their Equinox EV this Saturday.

Can I ask you if $440 includes taxes? In Texas we pay taxes on the whole price of the car… And then again if we decide to buy it after the lease ends …

I told them my offer was $440/m after all taxes and fees. The dealer asked where I came up with $440.

I told them it’s based on my budget, considering RV and MF (I provide the numbers) and a few out-of-state broker deals I’ve been offered. (The reality is just deals I’ve seen here in Marketplace, but I don’t actually provide them with any numbers from those deals.) I close by reminding them my price is $440/m $1000DAS, and if they cannot accept, I appreciate their time and will continue speaking with other dealerships to hopefully close a deal by the end of the month.

that seemed to do the trick.

I’m sure I’m asking a dumb question, but when you send the template, is there a reason you don’t include the dealer’s federal tax incentive? Is it because you already see it applied on the sale listing? I’m looking at a loaner which doesn’t show the tax incentive at all, just a bunch of other rebates and discounts that don’t seem to lump the $7500 anywhere.

This does not exist.

The bank gets a tax credit when they purchase the vehicle to lease it to you and then they can, if they choose, pass some of that on as an incentive/rv increase/whatever they feel like.

On the Lyric, they roll it into the residual value. There is nothing extra.

Oh, thank you for explaining it. That is why the RV is so high. Duh, and sorry for being dense!

Is shooting for 8% off Tech A’s MSRP ideal (before rebates)?

It is. 10% is always the standard target, in my opinion.

Thanks! Do you think I should negotiate more off? I had asked for the best price and 8% off is what I got.

Like others have told me, I’m wasting time. Become a Super Supporter here. Use the LH calculator to determine a fair term. (I needed it so I looked less like a fool. lol.) And then give your terms.

Ex: I can afford $400/m with $1000 with the GM Card promo for the additional $500 rebate. If your dealership is unable to meet that price, I understand and will look for another dealership that might have something in my budget to close this week.

Be prepared for a no or even a response that seems like they are mocking your offer, and just move on. It took me 15 dealerships for someone to take me seriously.

Here is the more polished template:

Hello, [NAME]

I hope this message finds you well.

I wanted to inquire about the [COLOR][MAKE & MODEL][TRIM] listed under stock number [XXXXXX].

I noticed this unit has been on your lot for around [XXX] days as (I assume) a retired loaner with over [XXXX] miles and I am sure your dealership would like to move this unit soon. I’m interested in leasing this vehicle and would like to submit an offer for your consideration.

[XX] month / [XX,XXX] mile lease for [$XXX]/m (including tax) with [$0] DAS {if applies:} [using the GM Card sign and spend promotion for a $500 rebate.]

For taxes, my zip code is [XXXXX].

If this offer aligns with your pricing, I’m ready to visit and finalize the lease paperwork within a week, depending on your availability for me to commute from [YOUR LOCATION].

I’m looking forward to your reply and hope to drive off in the Lyriq soon!
