Tesla Ordering Tips - And Most Other Reasonable Things Tesla

Problem is you don’t know the time between each car. You literally could reject one VIN one day then be assigned a new VIN the next day. In the past it used to be several weeks between VINs but I imagine it being less time now that inventory levels are building up.

I’m in California so deposits are refundable.

I guess I’ll just wait until mid June to order one.

Sat in the back of a base MY and thought it was a bit more noisy and bumpy compared to my etron. Does anyone have experience with both base MY and MYP and know if the larger rim helps with the bumpyness? or are they all like like? Looking to find a replacement for the etron.

Because it is significantly noisier and bumpier than an etron… Larger rims will make it worse.

I’ve rejected a VIN three times now from an August 2022 order.

They finally sent a “this is your last hold” e-mail after the last one. I thought it was three strikes and your out but it’s apparently four lol.

I just got assigned my last VIN on a base white MYP. I’m on the fence about taking delivery. I wouldn’t mind trying the MYP for a bit but I think resale is still very poor and may fall further.

Lyriq or BMW iX.

You won’t be happy with a Model Y coming from an e-tron. Maybe a BMW i4 if you don’t mind a liftback sedan.

It’s not a deposit

Are you sure California law actually covers you here?

All but sure this is non refundable even in CA. It’s not a “deposit” it’s an “order fee” or whatever

From what I understand, the new MYAWD is manufactured in Austin with a smart-pack battery 4680. This model added a lot more carpet in the car and the build is a bit different so the noise is considerably reduced. Obviously, there is no official word on it but the assumption is the handling got a bit better too. Obviously, the range with this battery is a bit low, which should get better as the battery gets more efficient.

I think they need to open up transferable FSD (if you bought it, it stays with the account not just the monthly plan) and consider allowing us legacy car owners a pass on transferring our FUSC toward a new purchase.

I’d at least consider it then.

According to the window sticker on mine, that car already exists

They actually have the audacity to show the base price being $35,000, and then an additional adder for single motor or dual motor… as though either of those were optional😝

I think we are starting to see some impact from the price cuts in last weeks auction data.
We saw a “normal” volume of Tesla transactions this week, so the market has come back to life.

How is the the value of 2022 M3P $5k higher than 2023 M3P?

And how is the 2023 MYP lower than the 2023 MYLR?

Not enough samples or dealers just don’t want a MYP because they can’t sell them?

At $40K, if someone wants to sell a 2023 M3P, give me a shout

We have discussed, in the past, that some of these results are illogical, and most likely, the result of a defective algorithm. That said, if you own one of these, you will most likely struggle to fight these incorrect valuations, so I think it’s valuable to just present the data as-is.
