HOW TO GET A GOOD WRANGLER 4XE Deal; Buckle up for a LONG read! (Part 4)

Where’s MMR on 22’s these days? Still dipping?

Hehe…so I’m not the only one looking at my uconnect to see where my 4xe ended up

I totally stalk my old ones too. One of them ended up at a multimillion dollar home on Greenwich Cove, which surprised me a bit.

Do they just forget to sign in with the new owner or does it allow more than one account to access a particular vin?

I’m assuming the new owners don’t activate the service. I had one that was deleted from my account, so I just assumed they signed up for services.

Fwiw cargurus has ‘22 currently down 2.2% from peak in late June (currently at same price as late April). I have no clue how reliable cargurus since it’s my understanding that’s just average asking prices.

Can someone post Ally residual and MF to compare versus CCAP

Data Point + 2 cents after having gone through this a few time since last year, though not quite like the Veterans we have on board

Sahara 61.5 sticker, sold for 56.6
-this is very fair and I think on the higher end
Rubicon 63 sticker, sold for 60
-also fair but on the lower end. I could have probably gotten 61-62 if I shopped around but this guy was buying both and gave me good $ for Sahara

As you can see, still very much flippable with a lot of upside but does require work

Late last year and early this year, I would go to one dealer and they’d spit ball me a high offer where I didn’t even shop around. As many are finding, dealers are now lowballing. I don’t think its as much as MMR is falling more so they are now a lot less trigger happy to buy any and everything overbid since its harder to move off the lot. Back to the olden days of lowball and try their luck. The dealer I ended up selling to initially offered me 54 for the Sahara and 57.5 for the Rubicon and told me “I just bought two of these yesterday, this is the price.” Even at 54 and 57.5, there is profit albeit significantly less. Do the leg work, negotiate, be willing to make a few calls. I think many people here, especially the newcomers, are expecting copy/paste VIN into Carvana and expect Carvana at their front door next day with 5 figure equity - these days are certainly gone.

With that said, I’m not sure if I’ll be ordering a '23

EDIT: We are also moving out of peak selling season and moving into buying season for cars, so this obviously has its impact as well

For those who have recently picked up from Koons, did they set an appointment for you to come in? I am being told that 3PM is the only slot for my pickup day (tomorrow), but the only flight I can get there tomorrow is mid-morning. Wondering if I should expect to hang out there all day, or if they could work me in? They seem overwhelmed with volume so I thought asking those here may get me a better answer.

Thanks!

Just fly in mid morning and explore dc for the day then uber to the dealer for your apt. That’s what I did

Haha you guys are funny! I am not sure I would feel comfortable roaming the city on my own. I am wondering though, if they are setting an appointment for me, then how do they manage fresh walk-in buyers? Example, someone stops by the dealership at opening and wants to buy a car, would they tell them “sorry we are fully booked today”? I am hopeful they’d work me in as they would a walk-in buyer, but trying to be realistic too.

When I picked up my car, I had an appointment, arrived on time, and I was made to wait because of their walk in business. So I’m not sure if that means you’d have to wait until 3 because they already have your order and money, or they might work you in and make someone else who had an appointment wait a little.

None of my recent flights have been anywhere close to on time, so the time cushion maybe nice.

i did koons on a thursday at 10am appointment. was early with all my paperwork in hand. Emails, calculations. everything. Still took 3 hours bc they were slammed. No games tho. I made it clear i had a packet with all info

Lol, DC is a great place to take in a day of the sights. Stick to the well trafficked monuments and spots in daylight and then uber to the dealer. If you haven’t been in a while it’s pretty awe-inspiring each time to see some of the buildings monuments and memorials.

Whats better getting robbed in DC or getting robbed at koons.

You can take the train from airport to koons and explore along the way at different stops. Like a 5 minute walk from train to koons.

That’s a good end to one last flip folks.
