HOW TO GET A GOOD WRANGLER 4XE Deal; Buckle up for a LONG read! (Part 3)

The protection packages are only worth it…for the dealer.

Also, given that the value of Wranglers holds up pretty well, you probably don’t need to do 15k miles/year. Even if you end up going over, you could probably come out ahead with a buyout.

I’m a travel nurse, I move from state to state/contract to contract every 4 months (and usually far away from FL to work lol) and the average driven in my current vehicle over the past 3 years was 14K miles/year so that’s why I picked 15K bc I roam from one edge of the US to the other

I drive in variable conditions and landscapes (usually a lot of snow, salted roads, rough rural terrain in the winter) sometimes in busy cities and sometimes in more desolate areas, that was the only reason I was pondering if I would benefit from any packages since my driving habits are pretty atypical and unporedictable.

I can’t speak for every use case, but based on accounts from both friends who work for dealers and friends who have taken the packages, the trouble is that these plans are deliberately loaded with restrictions/loopholes that make it nearly impossible to make claims. Which is why they end up being so profitable for dealers/issuers.

For example, they might investigate your line of work and say it falls under some “hazardous exception” that isn’t covered, blah blah blah. as with anything of this nature, I’d recommend reading it extremely carefully before deciding and know what you are getting into.

If you were there in person to do the deal, you could have taken it that day. It isn’t their fault. And, of course, it has to have the proper date on the contract or it wouldn’t get funded in the first place. In other words, yes, that is how it is done.

I suggest checking with your insurance company what they would charge for a $100 deductible comprehensive coverage. It costs me very little on my vehicles.

Looking at your past vehicles in your profession, have you had excessive wear and tear after 3 years of use? My issue with the coverage being presented you is the $500 max per event. $695 would be a good deal if you could turn it in needing brakes and tires, but the $500 limit would cover maybe 2 out of 4 tires, if lucky, and maybe 2 out of 4 sets of brake pads. So you are getting only half covered by the warranty.

A neighbor and someone I assume is on here is getting their 4xE this morning. Car carrier with two that had the Southern Louisiana dealer tags passed by me a minute ago.

Mine is supposed to arrive today in Colorado.

I saw them on Huntington in South Pasadena, California. They looked to be turning towards Alhambra.

How to cancel Safeguard tire protection from dealer? The LA dealer persuaded me to buy one and I regretted now.

For anyone interested, CCAP added the residuals for MY2023.

Interesting that the gas Sahara is 3% higher than 4xe - I haven’t tracked, but has it always been that way?

Shitty RVs out the gate, but who knows maybe they’ll increase them like they did this earlier this year ~2 months into the MY.

@TheBigTuna So it’s based on 15k per year , I assume that on 36 months and 10 miles per year lease Rubi will have 63% rv ?

Check the contract, as there might be a cooling off period but it’s often pretty short.

64%
36-42mo is +3%
