HOW TO GET A GOOD WRANGLER 4XE Deal; Buckle up for a LONG read! (Part 2)

It wasn’t. Came back Jan 3

Oh that’s right . I think Chapman said they weren’t accepting it. Must’ve been confused

Most dealers aren’t

Curious, what kind of build did you order?

A couple of remarks regarding the guy who ordered the Dual Top group. There’s a guy in Fairfield County, CT that stores & installs hard tops and soft tops for Wranglers.

If you trade your dual top group Wrangler in with the soft top, there is absolutely a secondary market for hard tops. They go for good money too.

What do nice hard tops go for these days?

Sahara 22 soft top, otherwise standard. Ordered early december

Wow that’s amazing, less than 8 weeks??

Just 1 date point of reference. A friend of mine has a 2 door JK that he only had a soft top for. He’s excellent at finding things in excellent condition on the secondary market for a good price. He literally looked for 2 years to try and find a “deal” on a hard top. He finally gave up on trying to find a deal. He got 1 in near perfect condition for $2K.

Maybe Jeep/Gupton/Chapman/@clutch/@AutoCompanion/etc could all put their heads together and come up with some kind of courtesy loaner program while people wait for their orders?

Hey guys
I’m thinking of flipping a Jeep 4xe while I wait fort my Ford Lightning (2023?). It seems straight forward. I order a 4xe. Lease it. Chrysler Capitol applies the $7500 tax credit towards the lease. I drive it for a few weeks, then sell or trade in for MSRP keeping the difference.
I know Chrysler Capitol could change the rules about passing on the credit, but as long as it’s in effect when I buy, I don’t see a lot of risk. Worst case, the used car bubble bursts, and I get stuck with the Jeep for a year and trade it in on the Ford with negative equity.

What do you guys think? Am I being foolish, or is this a pipe dream?

Plenty of people doing the same thing. The main risk you run into is ccap shutting down 3rd party dealer sales.

Ordered Rubicon 4XE in hydro blue and now regret not getting the satin black grill option. Looking at Mopar accessories and every one that I found says not compatible with 4XE. Didn’t realize the grill was physically different from a standard Wrangler. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The 4xe uses the Gladiator grill. Also make sure you get the right one depending on if you have the front camera.

Or just head over to dipyourcar.com

Interesting article, thanks for the share.

When does Congress vote on the EV credit rebate for 2022? Article mentions it may increase to $9k or drop down to $4k?

They’re referencing the Build Back Better act. No guarantees it’ll ever even be voted on. As it was last written, the 4xe would increase to $8500. It could go up to $12k, or $10k, or stay the same, or go away entirely. There’s nothing that would cap it at $9k or $4k like they’re saying.

Wonder how many cars left for Chrysler to maximize the 7.5k credit allocated to them.

Same. I’m just going to plastidip it. I’m also getting a grille cover for the winter.
