Thanks! I’ll check.
Well its funny they tell you that they never provide the tax ID number. It’s available if you know where to look.
See this link that gives the tax ID number, title and lienholder info by state.
Hopefully this might help others in moving their registration forms along if they run into snags with dealers or CCAP.
Of course, you still need to get the signed POA from someone at CCAP, although I was told the title person at the dealerships (at least some) may have copies of various form POAs that they can generate to get registrations done with various state DMVs.

Anyone shipped from Gupton to South Florida (any shipping company recs or pricing quotes? Lowest I got was $800 which seems high)

Gupton won’t do Docusign unless I confirm that I am not picking up in person, otherwise they won’t do docs until I show up? Seems strange
Unfortunately the CA DMV insisted the tax ID number had to be on a hard copy statement of facts document, in this case CA REG 256, and also signed by a CCAP representative. The POA was easy to get, I had that in hand within a week of calling.
Anyone knows if Gupton is honoring affiliate for who had it before the changes but is picking up after?
I am expecting nothing less than getting affilliate sale price when mine arrives
It seems Gupton is one of the few dealers intending on honoring affiliate if your order was in prior to 10/1 and you provided all affiliate info.
Two more notes on the 4xe. Anyone else have
- really loud fan/engine when the car first starts up (especially if the battery is low/near 0)? It’s loud like a NYC bus almost. Noticed on low gears it sometimes almost sounds like it’s stuck on the wrong gear (with high RPMs) but I feel like it’s something with the fan not the transmission.
- continuous very high pitched squeaking when the car is on and driving on fully electric. It’s really annoying, idk if this is standard for EVs but I pull in/out of garages/driveways/valet and it’s just like [squeeeeeeeeeaaaaak] - never noticed this on other EVs, usually it’s just the electric engine whirr without the squeakiness or tone to it.
#1 is the A/C compressor. It sounds like a jet engine. Completely normal, if you turn the A/C to 1 or off, it calms down.
#2 sounds like it might be the power steering? Mine makes some notable squeaks, they aren’t loud but are definitely noticeable above the EV pedestrian warning. Unless your talking about the actual pedestrian warning sound itself? That sounds like a ufo.
The squeaking power steering is normal. Watch reviews on YouTube. Most mention it. Mine did the same thing. You sound a little bit whiny. Buyers remorse?
That’s crazy, valet pulled up in the car and I did indeed think my car was either going to take off or something. …
Could be powersteering - this video seems to indicate so… Crazy, 60k and squeaks like it was built in my garage… The All New Jeep 4xe Makes Weird Noises - YouTube
@NATO - just things I’m noticing. It’s my first EV and also most of the other cars I’ve picked up have had 1k+ miles rather than 15 miles. Noticed there was occasionally burning rubber type smell too which I assume is just a new engine settling in.
Plenty of nice things too - just not things I wanted to ask about… I’ve driven 80 miles and 50 have been electric and 30 are hybrid, so I’ve used like 1 gallon of gas so far for 80 miles? Love the car with half the roof off (hardtop), and I’m surprised at how well it handles (compared to regular cars and compared to older wranglers). I’d say it takes potholes better than the 740.
Going to be interesting to see what kind of noises these things are gonna make during the winter in sub freezing temps
This is my first EV (hybrid) too so I’m getting used to driving and hearing the “UFO” sound and having that motorless torque.
I kindve got alittle depressed last night driving home when I thought about where the cars are going to be in the future and most cars turning to electric.
Gone will be the days of reving your engine and hearing your engine/exhaust notes while pulling away from a light.
Like the whole purpose of driving is actually enjoying the drive and not merely getting from point A to point B (atleast for me). EV’s are killing this and that made me sad LoL
Mine makes the noise even when A/C is not on, all lower gears with battery pretty much at zero.
Boom, just got an update after touching base with Jeep Chat for my 8’26 order. My Jeep is in Paint stage. No Dealer ETA has been provided yet. Firecracker Red, baby.
I will look out for your Firecracker Red 4xe from now on lol
Your first item is definitely the air-conditioning. This is definitely the loudest air conditioning compressor/condenser fan I have ever heard on a car
The second item could also be the EV required pedestrian noise at speeds below (I think) 15 mph. It will be a whirring/futuristic type of sound.
Can say after driving from gupton down to Florida I’m impressed with the way it drove. Only complaint is the steering feels very loose
I’m all set up to pick up the Jeep on Monday, almost 4 months since I ordered it on 6/16.
Anyway, I have a question on the Jeep and Uconnect apps. There is a function to locate the vehicle but it fails when I try it. Others here have reported being able to do so prior to picking up their vehicle. Does anyone know what might be the issue? As far as Jeep knows, the vehicle has already been delivered to me (all paperwork done). Thanks.
