How Did I Do On This 2018 Touring Accord Hybrid?

I just registered and responded to his post.

What are the odds he doesn’t take delivery and backs out of the deal? 1,000,000:1?

I will take $500 in iTunes gift cards and have my cousin (who is a retired Nigerian prince btw) deliver a new Accord to him tomorrow. He will handle all the payments but he only takes paypal.

Dealing with him is better than studying for finals, so I took a stab at it.

Great advice and good try. Based on my experience of telling him the exact same things for the last week or so, he’ll use it to march back into the Honda dealer tomorrow, cancel his Accord deal, and sign a 3/39 on a Pilot for $840/month with $12,000 down.

You are a better man than I

Mostly yes, but IF that happens I’ll feel like I’ve just won a Lotto :tada:

We should all chip in $100 to cover Ronald’s down payment. He gets the payment he wants and we end this madness until Ronnie goes out there in the wild in 3 years to look for his new lease.

Lol this was pretty funny. There’s no way he is being serious about this.

Probably should start another thread. You don’t want to be associated with his mess.

I refuse to believe you’re not trolling. When you’re able to post again please tell us all you wanted some attention and you did $0 DAS for $100 a month haha :pray:t3:

This guy seems hopeless.

Maybe he knows leasing better than we do. He’s been doing it for a decade.

Correct. In NJ, and most other states, the transaction in not complete until the vehicle is driven off the lot. Now, there are ways around this, and having the vehicle dropped off by the dealer and in your possession counts as driven off the lot.

I used to sell cars, and I can give the OP some advice:

  1. DO NOT PICK UP THE CAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! Stall if you need to
  2. Call the bank and put a stop pay on the check. They probably won’t cash it if you cancel the deal, but better safe than sorry!
  3. Go to the dealership and tell them that you would like to cancel the deal and are requesting ALL of your money back. Whatever you gave them, you should get back. In NJ, it is illegal to keep a deposit for a vehicle (AKA all deposits are refundable by law, even if the dealership says it isn’t)
  4. They will do what it takes to get you to lease the car, “What if I knock off a grand, what if _________” Do not give in no matter what. You obviously aren’t ready to make a financial decision yet. If they ask you why, tell them you can get a 5 series, E Class for the same money, and would rather have that.
  5. DO NOT LEAVE the dealership until you get all of your money back!
  6. Do some research before trying again.

I am in NJ and can help you out if you want, shoot me a PM.

You have unlimited time to walk away from a signed deal in NJ and most states AS LONG AS the vehicle was not picked up or delivered.

See above. You can cancel the deal as long as you didn’t physically get the car.

You and @chrishs2000 are good people. I’m pretty sure I checked out helping the OP at $9k down…
