How Did I Do On This 2018 Touring Accord Hybrid?

Thanks. I thought it was a joke at first, but he’s obviously very serious. I’ve taken my fair share of bad lease deals before (some decent, some bad), but all of them were at least right around the 1% rule, even if I could’ve done better. This is just ridiculous. He can have a E300 or 530 for that money.

I read his posts on the Honda forum. Looks like he can cancel the deal.

He is a little stubborn and argumentative but I hate to see anyone get ripped off this bad.

If there is a broker in his area, PLEASE reach out to him

Great read 10/10 will read again

Well, I think only one person can help him…

Hopefully he remembers to post in in the Trophy garage.

Just reading this thread boggled my mind… this is a prime scenario where a broker would be of the best help. @nyclife - maybe reach out to the guy?

that’s a payment for a Pilot and Pilot…lol

We are not doing a Gofundme for this guy, too many freeloaders there already.

Wonder what he does. I found Ron Epstein who is a M.D. and a Merrill Lynch adviser. Could be either one.

No way an adviser ! M.D. maybe yes… I have seen quite a few…

OP whats the deal then ? At the very least…Just tell us … How does it drive???

troll or not… he succeeded on getting everyone on here together in agreement

Honestly, I feel like this guy is a lost cause. What’s really sad is that for every one of us there are ten NJRonbo’s.

This is why the current car dealership system need to be outlawed. There are consumer protections for so many other industries, but car dealerships can swindle as many people as they want with no consequences. Then they have the nerve to say they are protecting consumers when fighting Tesla direct sales method.

This is also why you should have no mercy and feel no remorse when trying to get a deal out of a dealership (Not saying to be mean or hostile). I’m sure if any one of them had the chance they’d do this exact same thing.

I’m all about consumer protection and actually work in that field, but when a guy comes in and dictates his own terms, like I want to put so much money down and pay $350 a month for this car, how can you protect from this? Customer is always right, lol.

I’d venture to guess that’s not how the conversation went. Either way there should be limits as to what the dealer can charge, (i.e. not over MSRP). Yes, sometimes we as a society have to protect people from themselves.

If you read other OP’s posts on Honda forum, you get the idea what was said.

Well I said it before, and Im saying it again… If you calcualte the deal for guy with 0 due at signing … It comes to $580 per month. The new accords leases suck at the moment and Im guessing Hybrid even makes it worse
Take a look at this calculator. NOT USE IT AS A DEAL but for guidance only.
https://oceanhondaweymouth.com/lease-calculator/
With credit above 710 its, $555,37 . OP hasnt mentioned his credit situation at all. Tap it below 709, it takes payment to $580.

They are simply not giving him any discount on MSRP. Thats not a crime. Raptor’s go for $10k -$15k above Sticker… Now that should be a crime

that’s not how free market works.

the “S” stands for Suggested. The MSRP isn’t a requirement, and if people want to pay more than MSRP, why wouldn’t a dealer try?

I guess I don’t understand the logic. We expect a dealer to not try and get as much as they can, when, in fact, most people on this board, as consumers, try and do the same thing to them?

Why do we need a middleman to take advantage of the scarcity in the marketplace? Do you think the manufacturers want dealer’s charging a massive premium over the MSRP? Is that good for their customer? Is there any benefit to the manufacturer? Manufacturer’s have tried time and again to sell direct to consumers, but the dealer lobby is so strong they have yet to succeed. I also think that there is enough competition between brands to keep prices low.
