I drive about 20k miles a year and I’m debating between leasing or buying my next car. I’ve always leaned toward leasing since I like to switch cars every few years. Right now, I’m considering a 15k mile lease on a 330i or something similar and just prepaying the extra 5k miles upfront.
Just wondering does buying really make sense in this case unless I go with something like a Japanese or Korean sedan that holds its value well and is cheaper to maintain long-term?
I drive about 15-20k miles a year and i lease my lightning for 15k lease. I say its worth it for me leasing. End of lease im gonna have 60k miles which will be out of warranty. Plus you also can consider leasing 2 cheap cars and rotating then during week. Which i do sometimes
Yea I am also thinking about going the EV route with something like an i4 or i5 but don’t want to be driving those after the warranty expire. Not sure if leasing 2 cars and then paying insurance would be economical then just paying for the extra mileage unless I get those dirt cheap EVs
Mazda CX90 has 24/12K mile lease with option to buy miles at 15 cents/mile. The plug in preferred model can be had in NJ for $450-475/month effective before the additional miles.
should absolutely ALWAYS lease for high mileage situations. the cost of additional mileage is tiny compared to the depreciation the car takes w mileage, potential accidents, etc.
