Just another thing to consider outside of the mileage overage, is wear and tear. So brakes and tires might be a consideration regarding the total cost of ownership throughout the lease terms. As others have said, most ranges are .10 a mile to .25 a mile overage. Sometimes it might make more sense to buy the miles after you’ve negotiated a deal with a lower amount but you just have to be careful given your situation because I’m assuming you’d want to also drive the car outside of going to and from work…..
In terms of leasing, I believe an Ariya would be your best choice - specially if you have access to L2 charging at work, but they aren’t leasing that well this month, perhaps on September…
A guy in my office supposedly leases an F150 with 25k miles per year. I never looked at his contract so YMMV. I believe a toyota purchase is the best thing to do in this situation, not lease.
An alternative is to look at AFG’s balloon loan program, as you can “lease” 18k miles per year there. Usually its more optimal to go 7,500 per year because extra miles are just 10 cents per mile
