Here's the new 2021 BMW M3 and M4

Here’s the new BMW M3 and M4. Isle of Man Green and Sao Paulo Yellow, I think the green is amazing.

Absolutely loving the rear end- however I can’t say the same for the front. I know it will grow on me eventually

I hate to admit it but I kinda like it.

That interior is way different than anything else I’ve seen.

The seats look great but other than that I don’t like it at all.

The interior is just essentially a regular 4 series interior (which is based off the 3 series) but with different colors and aggressive carbon sport seats.

Love the green, love the back end, love the interior but sweet jesus the front end is effed. Who in design thinks the “kidney’s” look good this big? Is it for design or additional needed cooling? The ZL1 camaro has a huge open front end for cooling but looks waaayyyy better than this.

Its not kidneys anymore. They replaced it with Bladders

From the back, the green one has the same droopy Fu Manchu mustache look as the Supra.

Sounds like the comp is going to be auto only with the non comp having a manual option.

The competition model looks crazy. Check out those gold wheels!

And those shark fin carbon inserts in the front.

People will pay lots of money for these in 40 years when electric cars are the norm.

I think once people get past the grill, there are a few technical concerns:

1- the curb weight is almost 500lbs more than the F8x, which is nuts
2- 0-60 times show no improvement 3.8s for the F82 ZCP vs 3.9s for the G82 ZCP *AWD models are supposed to be much quicker, but they will weigh more so there is a tradeoff
3- G8X revs to 7200…F8x revs to 7600 (currently 7000 RPM is a lot of fun in the F8x)

I was really expecting the car to post crazier 0-60 times. Also was hoping the car would at least rev to 7600 if not more.
Personally I was a huge fan of the DCT transmission which has been replaced with the ZF8. Maybe its bc the ZF8 has more appeal among the masses, but having a DCT made it feel like a proper sports car. I would opt for 6MT but that’s not available on the competition models anymore and the torque gap between the ZCP and non ZCP is nuts on the G8x.

also the Australian builder is up for the G8x. The color options are very good to say the least, and I love the interior. Big fan of the headlights as well and the rear is on point.

BMW 0-60 times are mostly understated, especially now the V8 and I6 engines are older and they’re wringing them for every last drop of HP. I remember reading how the later production X5M’s (F85) were apparently putting out significantly more power than the earlier versions of the same gen from stock, around 40hp I seem to remember.

I didn’t realise they’d switched from the DCT to ZF auto on the new gen models. I loved the DCT too, might well get an M3 F80 next year once the prices level off.

I remember speaking to an Audi sales specialist 2 years ago about Audis switch from dual clutch autos to conventional autos in the RS models. He said he asked the Audi engineers when he was over in Germany and apparently it’s down to lower servicing and engineering costs, as well as the huge improvement in performance that single clutch autos now have. I still prefer the DCT in the F80 to the ZF in the F85, but most won’t notice unfortunately.
