That’s why I went direct to the source since others have specifically stated that GMTV told then they couldn’t buy out from Volvo.

Had a payoff letter of $37,360, somehow they got it for cheaper. Probably NJ Tax?
A hit on the taxes come reporting time, but made the down payment on a new car easy.
Just want people to know, VCFS is possible. (or was as of May 28)
so just for the record, as I asked my Volvo guy who used to work at Volvo Sarasota, that’s very strange and I’m not sure how that magic happened.

All I know is I’m sending everyone I know to GMTV, even my lease broker has an ongoing convo with Duane.
You may not have advertising in the north-east (Mike T. asked me how I found y’all) but word of mouth spreads fast, especially on here.
Too many people have spent hours on the phone waiting for Vroom to call back. Duane got it done in 24 hours with FedEx overnight forms.
You guys somehow made it easier than CarMax, and not sure how that magic happened either, just… thank you.

haha, trust me I wish we did more in the northeast. Our furtherest office is in TN right now; we have some field buyers out in Michigan, Mass. and NY/NJ…but that’s about it. Either way, glad it worked out for you!

Worked out perfectly, wanted to save your logistics department a bit of time (and 2 weeks for a pickup) so drove it to Manheim 20 mins away myself, giving it a final waterless car-wax and wax (Meguiar’s beta tester) before leaving.
Thanks again for everything, if you gets blips here and there in NJ, likely a referral! I’ve been quoting the manheim index and how it’s peaking this month to everyone who asks “where’d the volvo go”

Last Friday I asked my Volvo GM to see what his buyout was on my S60. It was the same as my payoff, so no wonder that GMTV bought it - they paid lessee’s payoff that Volvo gladly accepts. Same story as Carmax buying at payoff.

There’s lots of conflicting info here though… people saying gmtv says no Volvo buy outs, others saying they sold to Volvo, etc. Would be nice to hear directly why the conflicting information.

I am tired of cliquish lease brokers offering conflicting info, so I let everyone know VCFS is possible.
Updated with a proof of concept and the point of my post (read it again) was they got it at dealer buyout.
Well, if Volvo dealer doesn’t get “dealer” buyout, then no one does. Volvo stopped 3rd party buyouts, aka lower price, but they will sell to anyone at lessee’s payoff. The problem is that not everyone wants to pay a few thousands more.
My point was that’s what happened. GMTV paid my price and I got money back. I still don’t know how, but I don’t ask questions, I left it spotless at Manheim and got a surprise. I wasn’t rehashing old info rather… ‘wot’
Did you read my post? Volvo dealer payoff = lessee’s payoff now. Maybe you sold during transition, I don’t know. Just saying what it is now. Where did you see me complaining? lol Take a deep breath, no one is questioning your payoff.

That was what I was replying to. I didn’t know things changed in the last two weeks, whoops.
I sent along my pay-off from the site and somehow got money back, Was just updating with that info. Did not know now volvo dealer payoff = client payoff too!
I can confirm this. The Volvo dealer paid what our payoff would’ve been to take the car off my hands. They don’t get a discount anymore

@mllcb42 , @zagguru and I apologize if I missed anyone else in this thread, but here’s the current lease buy out status from my controller…
Toyota, Honda, VW Group, and Nissan/Infiniti are all right now a “no go” and/or making it near impossible to do. I asked her to find out if there are any others, which she’s doing right now

Okay wow, so things have changed in the last two weeks. I apologize @Ursus. Stuff from early April had me doubting using GMTV but worked out okay, only reason I post proof that ‘it’s possible’
Did not know even volvo dealers customer buyout numbers now. (w/ tax)

In my case - with the estimated (they estimate it to be by about 2/3 higher) property tax, which is not prorated, making it about 6 times higher than it should be. The only difference is the dealer does not pay $350 disposition fee.

Okay wow, I got out at the right time in that case. I didn’t know things changed from May → now, specifically 3rd party buyouts not existing (even for dealers)

Lexus units are also off the table…we can’t touch those. Just had to unwind one I committed to unfortunately.
