Grand Wagoneer----Its Biiiiiig

I agree. A Cayenne would undoubtedly be in my garage before I spent $100k on a Jeep, just my 2 cents. :relaxed:

Volkswagen Phaeton has entered the chat.

I know it’s a Jeep, and I know other people will know it’s a Jeep, but funny enough there’s just a small Jeep lettering on the side mirror. All the big letters on the front, side, back just say Wagoneer.

hahah true.

i guess everyone trying to be Range Rover

Yes, there’s going to be some people that just have to have it in order to be different from the rest but the reality is that the number of people willing to drop $1,500 a month on this is very small. Even in these market conditions this is a sub-$1,000 per month vehicle. It’s a Jeep come on…

That’s not bad compared to what a ā€œNo haggle best priceā€ Jeep dealer showed me yesterday. I went in for a test drive to see what it’s all about. I actually loved the ride and the entire package. The passenger side screen is gimmicky in my opinion, but the rest of the interior was very well done and it feels nothing like the Grand Cherokee I was driving 2 years ago.

But these prices?! I also asked specifically for the residual and MF to understand why I’d be paying $59,000 over 3 years for an $88,000 vehicle and that was all I was given. My sense is they have enough early demand from the ā€œI’ll take whatever you offer just to have itā€ crowd that it doesn’t matter for them yet.

According to Edmunds the Grand Wagoneer has a 54% Residuail (36/12) and a high money factor of 0.00161 (3.86%).

I was doing a little digging and can’t figure out how they came up with $5,831 in sales tax. Based on the VIN of your vehicle you’re in Minnesota which means you pay the sales tax on the difference between the residual value and the selling price. With a 54% residual your sales tax of 6.5% should be $3,375 and not $5,831. How the heck did they come up with that? You’d have to have a sales tax rate of 11% to get that number.

The sales tax is shown for the cash purchase option. In this case, it’s based on the selling price (full MSRP)… Let’s talk about a $1184 registration fee. Wow!

Yup you’re right. I wanted them to quote both because at those lease rates I may just buy it if I really want it. We bought out our Volvo lease and have about $5-6k of equity and paid sales tax when I purchased it, so I believe that reduces some of the sales tax on the lease.

Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer qualify for affiliate pricing. The discount ain’t great since invoice is pretty close to MSRP but something is better than nothing

Not if equivalent Tahoes aren’t sub $1,000

And don’t let badges influence what you think something is worth. Cadillac Escalades were garbage for a long time. Reserving judgement on the new one.

But a Tahoe is under $1,000 per month. They start in the $50s on MSRP.

Not an equivalent tahoe

A Tahoe Premier (2nd highest trim) is $67,320. The Grand Wagoneer STARTS at $87,590. That’s a $20,000 difference between the 2nd highest Tahoe trim and the lowest Grand Wagoneer trim.

A Tahoe Premier on a 36/10 has a residual of 62% and a MF of 0.00202.

That brings out the price of the Tahoe Premier (if you pay sticker) at $930 per month plus tax with inceptions DAS.

Why aren’t you comparing comparable vehicles though? A tahoe premier still pales in comparison to a grand wagoneer as far as equipment, quality of interior, etc goes. It may be a size competitor, but that’s it.

Bare minimum, you should be comparing the regular wagoneer to the tahoe, not the grand wagoneer.

I didn’t bring up the comparison with a Tahoe, someone else did. I just replied to their post.
