GM recalling Bolts for potential battery issue

Got my SOC letter from GM today, $2,135 back plus a 2022 Bolt 2LT, that’s the difference in MSRP from my 2020 LT. The only hiccup is the stupid thing has been stuck in shipping status every since I started the process a month ago. Every 2LT in stock within 400 miles is unavailable, or shipping status. Nobody can tell me what’s going on, guess it doesn’t really matter, just saving miles on the 2022. Residual for the 2022 in January will be $20,215, think I’ll be alright.

Has anyone been able to keep their included 5 year EV Mobile Command when swapping into a 2022? I had a 2020 that had 5 years included of mobile app remote commands included but now on my 2022 I only received a free month and OnStar has been fighting me on giving it back.

Mentioned a few times on Facebook group before… in their eyes, you got a new car, and the free remote command is a benefit that comes with the older car, which you willingly signed away with it. Now the new benefit that comes with the 2022 is the Qmerit or EVgo credit. You can try to bargain to give up on the Qmerit or EVgo credit in exchange for the remote command, which I think is fair, but I don’t believe I’ve heard anyone having luck with that.

It’s crap since the last update and it doesn’t even work anymore on my 2020

07/12/22 Works now! Updated again

Thanks! It’s not giving me anything besides a Camaro6 line? Weird.

Any one pass on a 2022, to reserve a 2023. Think there is a risk involved in them denying it in 6 months.

It has been down for a few weeks now.

Yeah Vick said he can’t even check it at the dealership…no idea what’s going on

That is just for shipping with Jack Cooper Transport. VinView is what some dealers use, but it is not very accurate too.

Just got $8 check from dealer for overpayment of dmv fees. Didn’t pay anything with SOC is it good to deposit this?

It was probably a difference in registration costs between your old bolt and the new (probably due to the inflated MSRPs of the old ones).

I would have no second thoughts about depositing that check. Especially for $8. Go get yourself a chicken bowl at Chipotle, champ!

Prob out of chevys pocket but they didn’t have to pay me the $2k difference in msrp due to being in CA.

Chicken Bowl is $8.95 + tax here in LA…

Maybe a Kid’s meal, which IMHO is the best deal anyway at Chipotle!

Does anyone have any idea how long I have to wait before selling a SOT vehicle?

RIP Bolt (I guess not immediately, but soon) and its resale values.

going on 8 weeks since my MSRP bolt was released for transport from socal to norcal lol…what a joke…

Yep I was contemplating ordering 2023 due to price decrease and ultimately decided against it because of this and it 55kwh max charging speed.

With Equinox starting at $30k bolt values will most likely nose dive.

Yeah, with Equinox and Blazer EV both on the near-horizon, Bolt is going to seem even more like a dinosaur largely due to its charging tech.

I was psyched about the lease swap, but am not thrilled with the EUV. The tech honestly already feels old - you simply cannot take the Bolt on a road trip unless you have lots and lots of time. I have another 15 months on the lease - it’ll feel really old by then!

I’m coming up on 8 weeks since my paperwork got delivered to my dealer and as far as I can tell my EUV is still sitting on that cursed lot in Ohio. Crazy that no one can even tell me where it is or when it might get here.

I reached out to my RC and she was SUPER helpful. She said even they can’t see order info for the special batch of Nov 2022 bolts, only GM can and they won’t share any of the info with the repurchase team. She also suggested ordering a 2023 and she would handle everything on the backend to switch my case over to the different VIN. Debating if its worth ordering to get the exact color, etc that I want - vs waiting some endlessly unknown amount of time for the 2022 to ship. Wonder which one would get here first…
