Does anyone here have recent experience hacking Genesis? I reached out to several dealers trying to get 15% off msrp before incentives on 2019 g70 models. The prices they came back with were really awful, like $450+ with about $2k down. They have decent MF (. 0006) and I had about $7k in incentives for my area with $2500 dealer cash so I thought they’d be more aggressive given how many 19s they had on their lots but they really did not make any decent offers.
I was looking into a G70 V6. Literally 20 feet away across the street from the Infiniti dealer, couldn’t get Genesis to get under $400 a month with $2k down. IIRC it was an insanely low Residual that screwed it up, MF was very decent though.
I had a Genesis …they depreciate horribly!
I wonder if Genesis/Hyundai is preventing the dealers from discounting to much so they don’t dilute the brands value further. There was a ton of inventory out there. I even saw some 2018s
Same! saw tons of all colors sitting in their lot, way more than any other Genesis model
The manufacturer has no real way (short of denying allocations) to influence the discount the dealer offers.
You’re dealing with Hyundai dealers and Hyundai/Kia dealers usually don’t deal with a public that negotiates dealer discount. They utilize a lot of tactics that some may consider sleazy to maximize profits. This was always going to be an uphill battle for Hyundai trying to break into the luxury segment. They should have started with crossovers…
Why should a dealer sell you a car at 15% off before incentives? Dealerships are privately owned, do you think they deserve to make at least a small profit on the deal? Where did you get the idea from that you should get 15% before incentives?
I’m just following what I’ve seen posted. I’m not making it up Genesis 2019 G70 2.0T Dyanmic deal $365/365 DAS
Whole point of this forum is to aggressively seek out the highest discount possible and compare deals.
Dealer owes nothing to OP and it never hurts to ask.
That 15% includes the dealer cash.
He got $6k lease cash plus $1k conquest.
So realistically you need to look for 10% off. The other 5% comes from the dealer cash.
What made it attractive on the deal I signed was the no sales tax included. The only tax they included on my deal was a small inventory tax ($62). That’s big especially in TX. So not sure if that can be replicated in other region.
I can tell you based on my attempts that it cannot be replicated in MI, IN or OH
