Gamers of lease hacker, what are you enjoying right now?

I know nothing about building pc’s lol :joy::joy::joy::joy:.

I just know how to use a controller, I had a lot of buddies help me 100% in building some of who are semi-pro, pro, idk what they call themselves but they are hardcore gamers with decent stream followings

All I know about my build is i-9 9900, 2080ti, asus rog strix (motherboard??? I think) 64 gb ram, liquid cooled. It was about $3-4k for the pc and my intent was to play a ton of fortnite but I got overwhelmed with school + step 1 and residency match process that I ended up touching the game a handful of times and mostly it gets used for studying or sits there idle.

As far as career earnings I didn’t make much maybe $2-3k between those games, those are the only two games I played a ton of and I took a huge break in gaming between end of high school and 2nd year med school, but between july 2017 and early 2019 I played as much as fortnite as I could, people who never touched a video game were playing with me, guys into rpg games, sports games, story mode, etc etc

This game changed the literal landscape of video games, it turned average income streamers and other kids into millionaires. It should go down as an iconic game.

@Lazarus
You had an I9 and 2080 TI to play… fortnight??? That’s just a tad overkill.

Here is a good, decently priced computer. It will play fortnight and other games easily. Might have a little trouble hitting 144fps on AAA games with high settings, but I don’t think your 10 year old is playing those.

Please buy thermal paste, conductivity wise, Gamer’s Nexus has proven that the OEM stuff is garbage.

The intent was to play in cash cups where the final circle is 50+ ppl, might be overkill but from every arena player I talked to it was better to overkill then have the frames drop and the proverbial rage come out.

Well that never happened so the whole thing is overkill :frowning:

Bruh you spend that match and you DONT buy the K version?

It was the best version at the time so it’s probably k, i told you I know nothing :joy:

Idt you need to overclock an I9 for fortnite lol.

@Lazarus fortnite is not a demanding game. Could’ve gotten away with a $1500 build. Did you have a 240hz monitor? Cause I’m guessing you got at least that FPS, if not more.

I guess if you have the money then why not though. I’d love a 4k gaming computer.

Excuse me, I OC my 8700k to 5.1 GHZ constantly on water on a 240mm rad setup. If I’m browsing leasehackr, I want my room to be A GOD DAMN sauna as I do it (as I type this, it’s 89 F in my room according to me thermometer, this is why my dad makes me pay part of the electric AC bill ).

I’m the a person who OCd their old 6700k to 5.3ghz on nitrogen for FUN, I’m a demon to these electronics.

Next on my list after I get my stuff in a row, is a VR setup.

Yeah Alienware 240, man all this talk is tempting me to play :flushed:

@HersheySweet let’s see those fortnite clips.

R6 elitist here. Excuse the profanity.

I only boosted my 8700k to 4.5. I was scared to go higher. Paired it with a 2070 when I was big into PUBG. God do I love that game.

Had to sell the rig when we had a kid a few months ago though. I miss it. My new gaming laptop just can’t compete.

2080 over here. I remember playing H1Z1 on my old rig, the grandpa version of PUBG and Fork Knife. Congrats on the little one, condolences about the PC.

Who else is super-excited about nvidia’s RTX 3000 series launch in a few weeks!!! Finally I can retire my GTX 1080 Ti and dive into raytracing and DLSS goodness… It’s been the longest I’ve waited to upgrade. Gonna try to snag RTX 3080 on launch day. Performance gains should be out of this world lol

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP I REGRET EVERYTHING

-Sincerely, 2080 ti owner

Heh I see your level of excitement is over 9000 too. Probably in opposite direction though

Edit: while I understand your sentiment, you shouldn’t be that upset. It’s not like your 2080 ti is going to become slower in 2 weeks

Catch me in line at B&H it microcenter on launch day.

Can’t. I’ll be furiously F5-ing nvidia store page starting midnight, or even sometime before…!

Felt, but it’s just like the FX days of power vs optimization. The 2080ti may not be outdated, but I’ve already listed and I’m trying to flip my card and using my server card as a back up in my main PC (rip plex acceleration). AMD may have comparable ray tracing and AI technology (or not I’m not keeping up) but still.

Most can remember FX vs intel core, raw cores versus heat and speed, and all know Ryzen trading cores and architecture versus clock speeds of core Iwhatever.

At this point, it’s figuring out, EVGA, Nvidia first party FE, ASUS ROG, or MSI Tomahawk. I’m leaning towards EVGA for the CS EXP.

No thank you very much. AIB designs are nice, but I’ll be grabbing Founders Edition the second they become available. I’ve waited long enough, damn it! Are you kidding me?!?! GTX 1080 Ti to RTX 3080 while before it was more like GTX 780 to OG Titan to GTX 780 Ti to Titan X?

 , AIB is the way to go bro. Founders locked chips suck. I had a 2080 FE, and currently have a 2080ti FE, you definitely need to watch out for Nvidia shenanigans of binning FE cards again, wait so you actually get a card that can boost, not some smuch stock clock piece of crap
