Gamers of lease hacker, what are you enjoying right now?

Apex Legends. Love it.

I’m enjoying Last of us Part II so far, pretty solid sequel IMO. Not as punchy in the feels story-wise as first one so far, but very enjoyable nevertheless.

COD but for some reason I have no idea how to add friends!
Who wants to be my friend LOL

Halo 3 FTW!

So far the gameplay is way better than the first one. The story I’m a little disappointed so far but hopefully it gets better. Overall enjoying it though, been waiting for this game forever lol.

Any suggestions on which gaming PC/monitor to buy? My son is asking for one, I know nothing about gaming PCs.

Picked up GTA on xbox in their recent sales. If only I could hack a lease in game on their insanely overpriced DLC cars.

PM me! I’m an ex semi professional, current it intern, and ex esports analyst for Team Boosted and AIMP

What does he want?

He keep sending me links by gaming PCs like iBuypower, SkyTech Chronos, Cyberpower, based on reviews they all look ok to me and price wise, these are around $800-$1100. He’s only 10, I don’t think he knows what he wants.

@Russ1975

The computers that come pre assembled from those companies are ripoffs. You can get much better value if you build your own computer. It’s not hard. Anyone with even limited knowledge and YouTube can get it done.

I think those are pre-built computers.

If you want a gaming PC, I would suggest to build it. You pay a hefty premium to get someone to do some very simple work. There are a ton of guides available online and the process of putting the components together has essentially turned into building out of legos. Some well-known YouTube channels with guides and good build sheets at most budgets are: Linus Tech Tips, BitWit, GamersNexus, etc. PCPartsPicker is also an invaluable resource for figuring out a spec sheet and pricing. Really easy way to make sure everything is compatible is to find a video with a computer build that has all of the components if you are not sure. That way you can see that everything will fit and work with the new system.

In terms of gaming monitors on a budget, I would suggest anything that has a 144Hz refresh rate and low input latency. The sky is the limit with monitor technology (and closely associated with astronomical prices). Asus VP249QGR and Acer XFA240 both come to mind for these two specifications.

I’ve had my tech semi literate dad build a rig with my help.

Watch these videos they’ll tell you EVERYTHING you need, it’s adult legos.

Don’t forget nice peripherals don’t start him with cheap $10 Amazon nice, I have some cheaper recommendations I can suggest.

I built my first rig at 12, a 4th gen i5 and 750ti build. I did it myself with a screwdriver in my basement, I promise you can figure this out, everything has quickly become standardized, and a tool like the one I linked in the top will allow you to easily put a list of parts together. I can even help you over FaceTime or text if you really need it. I did finish a Comptia A+ certification class for my internship at school, so I am decently ish qualified?

Anyone rocking with Halo 3?

@Russ1975 okay this is going to sound REALLY weird, does your child have a preferred way to play fortnite, controller, etc? I’m going to need a hand measurement from you to estimate his hands as they grow? M&K I’ll shoot for 1200 including monitor, keyboard and peripherals.

Digital storm or nzxt are the only pre built’s that I would suggest, everyone else skimps on parts versus name brand.

Either that or find a reputable pc builder through marketplace or Craigslist and have them build you one out to spec, for a 10 y/o I would suggest something around 120 frames per second.

Source: I played money wagers on mw2 in 2010 and I played money wagers on fortnite 2017-2019 until I had no more time due to my career.

SMH what’s your career winnings. F8 me, I’m the ‘pro’ gamer of this forum :triumph: I’ll add my latest clip after I finish this game.

This is what I feel is a really bomb ass PC for 1300, 180 FPS on fortnite, easily. Really easy stuff to work with, I favored reliability, durability and warranty than raw performance. AMD Ryzen 5 for CPU, 2060 6gb with an EVGA aftermarket cooler for OC potential, a good quality Japanese PSU, a good case with Swedish design, acrylic panels instead of tempered glass, because children.

I added peripherals I personally used to use, and I find the GPRO keyboard great for gaming use (logitech custom switches, mechanical too), the mouse is durable and lightweight, and highly recommended (by me at least and other lightweight mice users) for Fortnite other than the Air58 finalmouse (which no offense would blow this budget out of the water, my custom phantom has a market value of 300-450 USD, more if exported, and more if I reassemble it to my custom wireless version). The size is appropriate for your measurement you PMd me, and it’ll be fine as he grows older.

Anyone feel free to critique, I threw this together in 15 minutes with only concerns being $$$, reliability, and durability, and ease of assembly (Fractal FTW).
