I had a dealer say “tesla advertises exaggerated range. We do the opposite. This eqe will get you at least 400 miles”

He is partly true, tesla does exaggerate their miles & MB is a lot more conservative. Still, Eqe will not get 400 miles
Generally, one can never have enough rice.
Especially in Burnsville, Minnesota.

“If we could do that lease deal, I would take it for myself”…meanwhile I had a better price lined up on a higher spec car elsewhere, but ended up not taking it anyways
I always enjoy when dealers ask which dealership you ultimately bought from. Is it a frequent practice for dealerships to take notes on who they’re losing business to?
It’s valuable market data, yes.
I agree, though the skeptic in me has a hard time believing that dealerships actually use or know what to do with it
General Managers know how to use it. It’s their job after all.
For example
Pay Google Ad Words that every time someone google Toyota Dealership XXX, we appear first! Stop paying on Dealership YYY, no one is getting deals there.
Any GM worth their salt knows how to leverage marketing.
Them dirty dogs
A smart GM might actually do the opposite. IF Toyota Dealership XXX is known for giving out deals and only attracts cost-conscious buyers then it’s not worth spending your marketing $ to attract those potential customers. It’s much better to attract potential customers of Dealership YYY where the clientele is more cost agnostic.
Chasing the bottom of the market is a disaster for CSI. The first thing our GM did when she took over our store was look at every bad survey for the last 6 months. 90% of the bad surveys were in the bottom 5% of deals. She stopped leasing out loaners at big losses because all we were doing was chasing the very bottom of the market and those were by FAR the lowest survey scores.
Now if you look at our 90 day sales CSI, its 100%. Imagine being able to tell your boss you raised profitability (a little) and in turn raised CSI (a lot)
I’ve heard a version of this.:
“If you can get it for this price, then get 2 of them. One for you and one for me.”
“So you are really going to drive 30/45 minutes, 1-3 hours? We’ve got the car you want right here. You are talking about an extra $XX per month.”
You’re right to be skeptical. I bet the average GM just bitches and moans about it without doing anything constructive.
Dealer gave me 24 hours to respond to their quote. Deal was so bad that I had to respond in a few minutes

You should post their deal offers. That email just sounds like a cordial/professional email.
The quote was attached to the email. All they did was deduct lease rebates from the MSRP.
well that depends on the car, on a full RR thats amazing on a eqs not so much
Oh I had a great one two days ago. Recived a quote 4x of what I was assuming to be normal (non unicorn) price. When pricing was reconfirmed and I closed conversation saying Thanks, salesperson sends me a pic of dealer lead stating, this credit app will be going in today on that same unit. Idiot shared all details of the lead. Address turned out to be a cocaine cowboys shack in some Miami hood and the best thing, lead was 3 weeks old with vehicle of interest (0)
