Funniest/most ridiculous dealer replies you've ever gotten

Ask and you shall receive. I asked for 13% off MSRP and they countered with 5%. Told the dealer I was going to pass on their offer, but I guess they did not get the memo.

It took a few back and forths just to get them to give me a quote via email.

I canā€™t match that trade-in ($39,000 vs $41,000). We have a 180-inspection to make it a certified vehicle that would leave us no profit after reselling it.

Counter with, Iā€™ll throw in the service guyā€™s labor, and buy him or her a beer.

What happened to the Blue Label?

key, check. wipers blades, check. seats, check. windows, check. brake pedal, checkā€¦
iā€™m not knocking on mechanics or the inspection, but i bet that 90% of the items are very basic items that are within that point checklist.

Iā€™ve dealt with the same person as wellā€¦ Probably one of the worst customer experiences Iā€™ve had working with a dealer via email IMO.

Small freaking world.
I dealt with that dealership 3 years ago, when I was looking to lease an A4. Although, I did not deal with Suzanne then, I did not end up leasing from them for a few reasons.

I canā€™t believe folks like her work with customers on a daily basis. Maybe they deal with enough walk-ins who will pay whatever the dealership offers.

I just got this email from the condescending customer experience specialist. I guess I need to remind her that I already signed locally.

Took me one second to find her based on what you posted.

I suggest keeping things anonymous and not posting any personally identifiable info

Funny how this internet sales manager is insisting doing business online is more expensive then in personā€¦ā€¦
whatā€™s the point of your job then l

Why though? Having a directory of dealers who are assholes wouldnā€™t be such a bad idea. Most dealerships list their employees on the dealership site, so itā€™s not like itā€™s a big secret that Person A works for Dealership A. Unless of course itā€™s a liability for the site

In the car industry itā€™d be more useful to have a list of dealers who arenā€™tā€¦ theyā€™re more rare!

Fixed. I removed the personā€™s first name and any other identifiable info.

@njc and @DesertJake I dont think you realize how horrible and dishonest prospects and customers can be. Its a two way street. If you give respect, you get it.

Oh, no argument there! Iā€™ve read plenty of the dealer stories as well. And perhaps itā€™s just my area, but finding a dealer who isnā€™t going to try to pull something seems rarer than henā€™s teeth.

I was fortunate in my purchase last week though and found a dealer that didnā€™t play any games with me. It was a 2-hour drive, but I was so happy I went back with my daughter 4 days later and bought a second car for her.

I get that customers are assholes, but my point is that the dealer information is public to begin with and no privacy is broken. I can go on any review site and write that Susan from Audi of bumblefudge is this and that, why canā€™t it be done here? Knowing dealers is as much of a hacking as anything else
