My April-ordered 2022 Dark Matter Gray now shows up as a 2023 Carbonized Gray on the Ford site. Confirmed with the dealer today that the color change is okay; hopefully they submit the revised order ASAP to take it out of priority code 99.
Even if thereās private cash in the amount of the price difference ($3,000), Iām paying sales tax on the new higher sales price and can no longer lock April 2022 programs (no 2023 programs at that time). Hope they keep Ford Options cash going, but they have little reason to. Only going to take the car if it arrives before the year end.
This is for a base Select RWD, by the way. Sufficiently equipped for my needs. Still comes with a big infotainment screen, parking sensors, Active-X seats, and adaptive cruise to make it feel somewhat premium.

Didnāt know my priority code before the change to 2023. And nope, dealer wonāt do a binding contract before the car arrives on the lot.
Iād be really happy to stick with a base Select - agree thatās itās a pretty decent value. Only reason for Tech and Comfort were heated seats and steering wheel here in the Northeast. Very curious to see how it will play out for people who had selected that package. So youāre assuming there wonāt be any tax credit if delivered in 2023?

Some of the dealer deposits were non refundable for me and would meet Tennessee law for a firm contract. Others did not. I think youāre in California with refundable depositsā¦ sorry. I agree the base select feeing premium and fun. Worked great for me - but not the wife.

Some more info from dealer re. private offer. Sounds like 3k cash back for Select orders no matter what model you end up ordering.
The Private Offer details are going to be released after 10/29. So, until then, we will not know the exact amount of the private offer. From my experience, Iām guessing itāll be the difference in base MSRP between the 2022 and 2023 which for the select is $3,000 but I canāt guarantee or promise anything because we do not know at this time. If you were to change the model, they do not see it voiding any private offer but where the official announcement hasnāt been released, anything can change and I canāt give concrete answers, but I at least want to provide you with what we have been told.
The private offer will be set based on the modeled ordered and will not cover the full amount if you decide to change models.
Iām totally against it, but I might have to order a GT and see what happens. Tax credit isnāt clear yet, I have no sales tax in NJ and Iāll order through Chapman at 1% under Invoice. There still seems to be tons of interest even with the price increases so resale value might be there if I need to get out, I def donāt want 1000 a month payment for too long. Iāve read the Options interest rate might be 4 1/2 or more by the time it gets delivered, no word on incentives yet either, so thereās also that.
Kind of BS that you need to wait that long to find out what the private offer is. What if you want to switch to premium.
Is anyone aware how the lightning private offer worked? I believe it will be essentially the same as that. Iām looking online if people were locked to their original trim and canāt find anything about that. If we can switch trims the GT would be a steal

The way I read it is youāll get $3000 cash back no matter what you end up ordering. Thatās not 100% confirmed, but I would say very likely. Difference to Premium is 10k, so Iāll stick with Select and live with it for a year or two until Blazer or Silverado EVs become available.
