MFJ is fun the first year when you realize the tax savings. Just make sure you’re filling out your W-4s correctly as they can be a little confusing. Best thing to do is estimate your upcoming year’s taxes then back into the proper payroll deductions. Thankfully I run payroll at my job so I just look at what my wife’s deductions end up being at her job then adjust mine accordingly.

What is this CVAP magic about? How to qualify?
CVAP in current form is severely restricted compared to prior iterations. You need to be in disadvantaged area and income limits. But if you do qualify - you may be able to stack CVAP+CVRP+Federal Tax(?) atleast in CA.

Had no clue CVAP included Tesla’s now. How long did it take to get the app approved?

Wow, nice find. I didn’t know the grant got increased to 7500, cool, and the rebate got increased too… super cool.
I got the grant in 2020, it was 5K, also with the free L2 charger, and 1K charging credit. I ended up leasing a 40K Kia 36/15 for 110 a month with nothing down and zero drive off thanks to the grant, Cali rebate, and incentives.
If I had gone with the base model, the payment would’ve been $27/ month.
So we have the same cars now a red Mirai and a white Tesla.
I got 4500 CVRP on Mirai and 7500 CVRP+7500 federal on Tesla. I also picked up an inventory Tesla from Carlsbad for the same price.
You obviously did a lot better on both. My TCO on Tesla would be about $28.5k.
Don’t you have to live in a disadvantaged zone in just a few neighborhoods to qualify for CVAP?
My experience so far is that Mirai is much more comfortable and drives much better than the Tesla.
