Do you need a CA license for cvap or just a CA addr? And how long do you need to stay at the addr?

You need a CA license + they want your tax return from 21
Plus the car has to be registered in CA

Where is the bad financial decision?
Side note - CVAP is based on zip code now and also has a max price cap of 45k including taxes.

I would think that if your income is low enough to qualify for $7,500 CVAP then it would not be high enough to qualify for full $7,500 Federal Tax credit. I guess if your income in 2021 was significantly lower than in 2023 then it might work.

Definitely making more than what I did in 21
And I’ll file jointly with my wife she’s the breadwinner here

No @LAK1ngs 26xxx is if I qualify for 7500 when I file next year jointly

NVM, got it: 43698-7500-250=35,948. The first 7500 from CA is already there.

What a way to min-max. $7500 from CVAP, $7500 from federal next year.

Are you throwing CVRP to family bc it doesn’t stack with CVAP?

When did you apply for cvap? I thought it just reopened last month.

How did you find a Tesla dealer? I couldn’t find a Tesla dealer on the list of approved dealers.

This is your 3rd EV? I always thougjt you only qualify for CA rebates for the 1st and 2nd EVs, not the 3rd and beyond. Does the $7,500 CA rebate have income limitation? Congrats!

Correct my 3rd tesla
First time using CVAP you have apply for it and wait to be approved
That’s why I added my brother to it so I could use CVRP rebate
The 7500 does have income limitation based on your household size

They all qualify

May 27 applied
June 14 approved

It does stack I just claimed it on a previous car I had before

Isn’t CVAP based on household income so filing separately does you no good?

Cvap was applied instant to the purchase
I’m talking about the fed rebate

But those two things don’t square. Filing separately one year and jointly the next shouldn’t work. Unless the combined family income was under the limits for cvap in 2021.
