You mean like stupid drivers that pretend there car has FSD capabilities?

It’s not just stupid drivers. Humans are not designed to have hair-trigger reflexes after hours of monotony. Used as a co-driver, one who will brake a second or two ahead of you if you are momentarily distracted or otherwise slow to react, I think these technologies are complimentary.

Of course the stupid drivers who believe these technologies are ‘Full Self Driving’ and the stupid names given to the technologies are the problem. It’s not just the naming though, ADAS systems can lull you into believing they are much more capable than they actually are. As the systems get better and there’s less human intervention needed, more people will be lulled into the false sense of trust.

If this was any other manufacture, and the person was using adaptive cruise control, would that manufacture be sued as well? I am sure this has happened a lot with adaptive cruise control on other brands.

This is the driver’s fault, he had more than enough time to react, Autopilot or not.
