I updated to the new version of Fair app 3.1 and it hangs on my Android phone. I can’t seem to get it to go, tried to reinstall, reboot my Android phone. Also, had a friend install it on his Android phone and same issue.

I wanted to get a car soon, are you able to help resolve it. Thank you!

While I haven’t leased a car from Fair yet (although I plan to soon), I have had very good experiences with Vince and Fair customer services with respect to some account issues, which were resolved professionally and promptly. Just thought I should share a positive experience.

@VinceFromFair, is this true? Can we get refund for unused miles?

I was misinformed. If you purchase extra miles above the base minimum mileage for the car you can be refunded for the unused extra mileage purchased but not the base miles. It would be amazing if the refunded some small amount… even 5 cents a mile but they don’t. I generally average 5 to 6k a year so was excited when I incorrectly thought I would be refunded. I was told the wrong thing in a fair.com chat but double checked the contract before moving forward.

I placed an order yesterday morning for a car that was at a particular dealer here in Sac, Niello, I know who and the car was at inventory at their website

The order immediately turned into “we are confirming availability with dealer”

In the course of yesterday afternoon two things happened

One, the car disappeared from inventory on Niello’s website
Two, around the same time at 4-5 pm PST yesterday i received an Android notification from Fair App that says "Good news! The car is available… " something along those lines. When I dismissed the notification, Fair App had a red star on it like there is anew message.

But when I clicked on the app there was no message, nothing changed – I am still stuck at “we are confirming availability with dealer” and has been ever since yesterday.

Now surely by now they have CONFIRMED availability either way – either the car was taken off dealer inventory because it was reserved yesterday by Fair, prior to me receiving that App notification, OR because it was sold to someone else and there will be no car.

Why are they keeping me on this "confirming availability " screen?!

I have nothing in “documents” but was able to add insurance, after which nothing happened.

I need to know TODAY whether this is happening because I have other options for a car. This is ridiculous. Clearly they were in touch yesterday with a dealer and whatever status the App displays is wrong. NO ONE at Fair can explain to me why I got a notification yesterday afternoon and why nothing changed after it. I don’t think anyone there knows what an app notification is, which is weird considering their whole business is an app.

I spent two hours on the phone with different levels of concierge and supervisors today and they were not helpful whatsoever. I feel like they do not understand English at all, like I am telling them one thing and they respond like trained monkeys with some meaningless refrains that do not address anything I actually said. They also cannot understand for the most part that I am referring to teh car being taken off the dealer’s inventory, not just Fair App inventory.

All I can tell that no level of them has any access to order processing or can get in touch with any team that does that.

Can you help or should I just walk away because I feel right now like I am being treated like crap?

I linked my bank account but payment has not been taken.

its a startup it happens just buy another car – if not them you should talk to your legal team regarding further action

@Sriram in my recent experience DRIVEFAIR works, but it only gave me 100 off. i’m guessing it depends on the size of the downpayment itself

No updated $250 coupon codes yet, unfortunately. But I’ll be sure to post here as soon as one becomes available. DRIVEFAIR (discount was reduced from $250 to $100) and 8XS7B5ZF are the only codes I’m aware of at this time.

Vince helped as much as he could, and customer service called, as he said they would, but that’s where it stops.

The usual troubleshooting items, clear data, cache, reinstall, followed by “we’ll create a ticket with tech support” then nothing resolved.

I dunno about elsewhere, but in Florida, the app is most definitely broken.

I’m keeping an eye out for updates that fix the looping issue, but I’m completely done with their unavailable and incompetent customer service.

I have also had virtually no problems with Fair. My Mitsubishi Mirage which includes full coverage insurance and tax" licence and roadside service is literally $308 a month.
The only problem I have is that I am looking at the more luxurious cars for my job, as I often drive with one or two clients. The Mirage is very small and I need a larger vehicle. I just looked at the cars on app today. The prices must have tripled! What the heck happened? I can never trade this in. I can never come up with a $1890.00 down payment, just out of thin air and spare change. I am so upset. I was thrilled with Fair and the whole idea. But I am not rich and cannot afford out of my lease and cannot use this vehicle for work. And that is a must. I do not know how to rectify this.

What are you paying for the Mirage before insurance and taxes?

$208 per month before full coverage insurance. This includes licensing and roadside and warranty. I lucked out and have been watching this app since its inception. When I saw that $1000 off down payment I jumped on it. I was so excited but terrified in getting in over my head in payments. Unfortunately, I was a little too frugal and too fast. I didnt think it through. I also hadnt seen it in real life so didnt realize just how tiny this car us. I have had a fantastic experience with Fair. I have absolutely nothing to complain about except for the huge jump in price. Is it just me? I am either crazy or it seems to me as if the vehicles have gone up tremendously!?

So I am not crazy! Thank you. I was needing to trade my Fair vehicle in. I live in Los Angeles and just looked at the app to begin my new auto search, when I saw the prices I just about lost it. I am literally stuck in this car forever! I can never afford to turn it in. I loved the idea of Fair specifically because I liked to idea of not being tied down to a long term lease or buy. Now, thats is exactly what I have.
