F-150 Lightning... Reservation & Ordering Discussion

I am im Houston Texas but it has been between 45-70 degrees.

I will try resetting the mileage.

I’ve got a Lariat ER, but my fully charged range estimate will swing wildly depending on the mi/kwh of my previous trip. These things are aero bricks, so don’t expect much range at 75+ on the freeway. My commute route in heavy traffic will yield me about 3.6 mi/kwh (regen is great), but with no traffic I’m only at 1.7 mi/kwh.

Only downside about these trucks battery is so big that when your below 40-30% battery is gonna take a while to charge unless you have the pro charger.

It’s a good thing the pro charger is free when you get the truck . 103 KWh in my 12a-6a cheap electricity window is more than sufficient

But generally speaking, even the ER battery isn’t so large that you’ll ever run into an issue that you wouldn’t be in with most other EVs. Level 1 is too slow to get any real charge in a decent time frame. Level 2 will suffice for day-to-day overnight charging. Level 3 when you need a lot quickly.

It’s technically not, if im not mistaken i remember either you take the charger or $2k rebate.

I took rebate, yes its nice to charge fast but when my lease is up. Idk if ill stay with ford or move on to something else. So imo i went with chargepoint. Multiple ev’s and its approved with rebate program with ConEd

It was 100% free when I got mine in August. I had no option for a $2k rebate at the time. But what you’re describing sounds like you get a choice between a free charger and the rebate. So it’s no different.

Plus, I think you can charge any EV on it with the same plug.

Correct, i should of made myself clear. In other words not all ev’s charge past 48 amps. But yes all ev’s can charge from that charger except tesla

It’s currently the charger installed or $1000

Is it a smart charger or dumb one? Can it scheduled charging time from the charger?

Hello everyone. Sorry of this is already asked on here… is there any deals currently with Electrify America and the purchase or lease of a Ford Lightning? Just curious as I am coming out of a Hyundai that had the 2 years free of EA. Thanks for your help!

It’s a little confusing at first, but yes.

You set the time range to charge for the given location, then you set a target charge %. If it believes it can hit that target, it will start charging at the beginning of the time range. But if it doesn’t believe that, it will start immediately. I often have to change the target % so that it waits to start. Kinda dumb, but you get used to it.

Sorry i dont have one, i took the incentive instead. I ended up adding a chargepoint hardwired. Im really happy so far, especially its installled outdoors. Past couple days its been really cold below 10 and charger works like a charm and easy to handle the cord, no stiffness due to cold

Chased a few Lightning Flash deals the last few days in SE Michigan - both around $52k before tax. Both fell through.

Still interested in tracking down a ER, and not in a real hurry - would likely pull the trigger on one in that range if I can find another.
