Trucks are for truckin’… not road trippin’… yee haw!
I guess then nobody tows boats, trailers, etc. with them then lol.
Waiting on etron or taycan hacks
Only if they are towin’ a battery pack too:

IMO the price cut makes the extended range Lariat a viable option again… At under $80K it’s eligible for fed and (my) state tax credit. The price bump was the reason I passed on converting my reservation to a purchase.
Lightning finally on Ford.com inventory search.
Now just need some unicorn Ford broker to show up on LH.
With the recent price cut, if they pass on the $7,500 tax credit, maybe I’ll go pick up the one I ordered that’s been sitting on the dealer lot since April…lol
I finally drove an ER Lariat today. Other than the flimsy (gimmicky power folding) shifter, no major complaints. Really quick off the line, rides great, much quieter cabin than an R1T or R1S. The big battery Lariat with bedliner and power steps checks in just below $80K and is thus eligible for the $7,500 fed and $5,000 of my state’s tax credit dollarbucks.
It is a compelling ‘do it all’ vehicle IMO for the $67Kish effective price tag, as long as you’re not towing anything. I passed on my reservation with the price hike but now may look at ordering one (ideally a 2024). Evidently there’s low rate financing and a $1k Ford rebate if you take one off the lot.
Any idea what MMR is doing on 2022/23s Lariats with the lower current MSRPs?
Drove the Pro Lightning and fell in love. Tons of space, power and decent enough range for the money. Plenty of Pros at Sticker around here.
Now the question is, any dealers offering below sticker?
Local dealer already offering discounts on platinum and higher lariat trims.
Prices slashed by 10k i read
But can it tow?
That is an amazing Legos rendition. Is it 100% Lego? What does the underbody look like? Going to Google this.
Signed a NDA, I’ll forward you dealer contact for any inquiries.
Not seeing any Pros in inventory in MD or NC. I put in an order for a Pro when the book opened up in early August 2023. “Order accepted by dealer.” No attempt to add any $$ to list by the dealer.
What should I expect as this order progresses?
Any way to get it below MSRP if I am ordering?
Is Ford still selling all the Lightnings it can produce? I see hundreds in local inventories, but there doesn’t seem to be any deals or LH activity scoring discounts.
I only see 23 within 20 miles of zip 92010 between 4 dealerships. The cheapest is $72k; base $55 + $15k in options and $2k destination. On the dealer site, it says “call for price”, which probably means that it’s marked up. There seems to be an EV firesale in the NorthEast. I see the best deals there, but in California, there seems to be enough demand for EVs to keep the price high.
Inventory has been increasing steadily, and I rarely see one on the road in SoCal. I see Rivians daily.
Captain obvious here, but maybe when they’re discounted with better incentives then they’ll sell.
Ford opened up the orders again, the real value is the Pro model, but those generally get bought the moment they hit the lots, especially since they dropped the price back to $49,999 from $59,999. Still not the $39k when they launched…
Overall, solid truck that takes a while to charge like all EVs with this massive of a battery.
Would definitely get one myself… If there weren’t all of these crazy EV deals. lol.
I may just wait 3 months and pick up one in January and get the $7,500 at point of sale rather than waiting in taxes.
First time hearing about the $7500 point of sale incentive. I know that NJ and CT have point of sale incentives. Otherwise, the Biden program is a $7500 tax credit only available for families that make less than $300k/yr.
