For MB we do not have EA account. We have Chargepoint account that anyhow I have since 2019 when i got my first Hyundai Ioniq EV, now since I have eqs i paid so far $1.5 for an experiment going over 30 minutes LOL.
New Audi. Never attached a card. Havenāt signed up for the EA app. I initiate from the Audi app. Works without a card.
Iāve always needed a card and EA has always put a $20 pending charge on it for each session.
Audi doesnāt need a card on file. Itās linked to the phone #. EA is just ![]()
I presume the Audi offer then is not limited to 30-minute sessions? Do they give you a total eneregy allotment?

I was today years old when I learned that the Audi free charging plan is in some ways more generous than the EAās deal with BMW. Depending on your model, you Audi owners either get either unlimited charging for two years, or you get 250 kwh total.
Audiās system is better since either way you donāt need to worry about a credit card!
Thanks for the info. I guess thatās the benefit of owning EA.
I believe my E Trong T includes unlimited EA charging for three years.
Unfortunately my lease is only 24 months.
Do MBZs have unlimited charging too because they sit at EA chargers forever?
No, itās 30 min free only, just that if you got a Merc you maybe got lots of spare cash to give EA
They could also be broken.
Baby, itās cold outside⦠I mean, for your reading pleasure while youāre waiting at EA line.
PROBLEM: Was told today that EA no longer does remote starts - or private sessions in EA vernacular - for MBZ cars when charger is acting up. No reason given, effective immediately.
SOLUTION: Ask for a comp session after experiencing a problem. They can still do remote start on an unlimited comp session.
Sitting here at an EA station and what might help is a more publicly visible display or a display board that shows time and percentage of each charger so people know who is electron hogging and the users will also know their behavior is more visible.
Or even on the app.
This would also help people know how long the possible wait will be without having to get out and look at each charger screen.
They could even make those green LEDs flash once someone is at 90%. ![]()
Why not make the 350kwh EA charger shame the bolt users who plug in? Make the screen show a giant clown face or something.
Iām a bit in favor of a reservation lineā¦but thatās harder to get right.
Youād need to get the chargers working more consistently for that to be viable.

I think this is a new record for lagging text messages.
Last time I charged at EA:
Text from last night:
Interesting read how CA CARB may have to start cracking the whip at EA. The penalties are spelled out in the settlement contract. Two interesting points:
1 - In a recent report from data analytics company J.D. Power, Electrify America ranked last in consumer satisfaction among fast-charging networks based on users of the PlugShare app for EV drivers. The network scored 538 on a 1,000-point scale; Tesla scored 739.
2 - Enron, following its own California energy scandal in 2001, was also forced to install EV chargers as part of a settlement deal. The $120 million settlement with Enronās subsidiary NRG is now the EVgo network, which has ranked poorly in consumer reports. - Didnāt know about Enron connection.
