Electrify America - Experiences and Discussion

Hey, there is still 8% to go! Its not like the guy is sitting at 98% at 6kwh charging speeds… like Lucid owners love to do

I guess EA does make real money on such customers and not only us 30-minute free loaders

Bolts gotta pay, so yes, but charging at 32kw is such a waste for a 150. (I am assuming this is the slowest charger)

Go to my dentist, still has 50%+ but electrify america is only 5 mins away, going to top up, saw 2 spot open on the map, unfortunately EQS n EQE comes in and fill up the spot. Apparently neither of them can’t get the free charging working, one chose to pay instead. I try to help but the one who chose to pay keeps insisting the other one to just tap their cc. LOL, not interested in drama and left them instead.

So it’s not just me who finds that the EQx owners are less patient and give up when they can’t get the charger to work (or maybe they don’t know how it works?).

A guy asks me if an open stall is working and I tell him yes because a Polestar was just there charging.

He attempts 3 or 4 times to connect and no joy. He just leaves… which is good for the one Porsche EV waiting who pulls in and connects on the first try.

I wonder where he went? Home? Gas station?

Hopefully back to a MB dealer to trade for an ICE Benz

Hey, I’m patient, resourceful and (usually) up for a good fight. Yet, sometimes you end with this after trying both cords, app, credit card, Google pay, etc after putting up a good fight and being blamed by an EA rep for not being careful with their equipment. Oh, well!

And I did get those notifications 2.5 days later. Wonder if @trism got cc’d.

I went to my closest EA to charge just now. 4 spots, 2 open, plug mine n take a glance at the other 2 stalls. One is c40 n the other is an eqe. Look at eqe charging display - it’s 90%+ 45 minutes n speed is only 20kw in 150kw charger. I went n knock at the driver n ask him if he’s aware his 30 mins free is up n he’s paying for 20kwh speed now. Apparently he didn’t know that, he thought it’s free. He just bought it n it’s his 1st time charging, so talk to him a little bit n give him some tips on charging. Benz delivery really need some paper sheet tips on ea charging.

Isn’t Merc plan free? My Ioniq5 charging plan is 30mins free but I can charge any amount of time and never have to pay…

30 minutes free, charge start from 31 minutes, need 60 minutes in between to get another 30 mins free

In theory yes but in practice you can restart right away.

The 60min cook off timer is pretty much unenforceable until reliability improves drastically.

This is true. The last time I charged, it just stopped charging randomly, like 7 minutes and charge was at 55% or something. I just restarted, and it started right back up. I was afraid that there might be some cooling off time between charges, but thankfully not.

The Hyundai plan isn’t at all like that. You can charge indefinitely. You can leave it at charge at 100% indefinitely without consequences.

I reported the problem above to EA via DM on X, and they basically patted me on the head and thanked me for sharing the concern.

But I got another one this morning (and I’ve been on the other side of the country since 1/19)

I reported this one too, and they actually looked into it this time.

The texts are apparently coming from Audi.

Thank you for sharing these additional details with us. Our team has reviewed this concern and informed us that since the charging sessions are being initiated with an Audi premium offer from the MyAudi App, Audi will need to be contacted regarding the delayed text notifications. You can contact Audi directly at 800-822-2834, Monday through Friday, 9am-7pm EST.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us anytime. Thanks again.

Pulled to EV charger yesterday and there was an EQS that wasn’t charging as it was all done. Waited and waited and the owner never showed up. I just left… Not sure why they do that…

If it was a gas station the answer is , they made a run to the bathroom…lol

EA blamed Audi.

I called Audi this morning and submitted relevant screenshots via email.

Audi is blaming EA, with typos. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you for contacting Audi Digital Business Support regarding your Audi. We have received your email inquiry and have determined you will need to speak with the Electrify America team. The text messages you are receiving are from EA station in which your charged. The text message also mentions ‘0.40/min’ after ‘grace period’ , which is not apart of the unlimited price plan that Audi offers for charging. The Electrify America team can be reached by telephone directly at +1 833 632 2778. They operate 24/7. Thank you for being a valued member of the Audi family.

I understand EA has a shitty CS but I’d expect from Audi to better take care of their customers

They have the same owners.
