Economy prediction... What's yours?

What’s overblown about it? Ive watched several documentaries on it I don’t think they were propaganda. One was actually in favor of it but they explain it well. All I needed to see to know exactly what it is. I’m sure they’re more free in rural areas but that’s also going digital.

Anyway all change starts slow but you know it’s intended purpose and ultimate goal. Total control. Totalitarian tiptoe

Not to mention fentanyl, stealing intellectual property, flooding markets to take market share and manipulate prices.

Wow, if this all wasn’t insane enough already - this right here is…well…insane.

Excluding the last point about China: There is no talking, or negotiation on any of this. I’m really curious what more others could offer.

Yes, Today he said fired federal workers will fill the new factories. Ignoring the historical overtones, sending educated workers to the factories is a great use of economic capitol.

But short of all that the Chinese just have zero reason to fear these tariffs long-term. They know the average voter, who has basically zero understanding of how anything works, is not going to understand what’s happening and say sure let’s take the pain.

My prediction - and you can flag this post for a year from now. Within a year the tariffs are undone and the concessions we get are nominal/make no difference for our trade deficit. Congress isn’t going to let this go past the end of the year.

I think well before that. If it lasts anywhere near the new yr the midterms are going to be a shellacking like we have rarely seen

What do we tell the few thousand keystone pipeline workers? Thousands packed up families to move and leave other jobs to build the pipeline.

They’re going to be that way, anyway. People are, rightfully, pissed. Losing the house is a foregone conclusion, but if this recession continues, with a stagflationary environment, the senate could also tip. A 2010-house scenario is possible.

Americans are willing to suffer pretty much any abuse or injustice if it means they can have a cheap meal or buy more cheap crap. They punished the biden administration because of inflation. To reiterate, we had near full-employment, and people were still not happy because of how expensive things were.

Well, now, they can be not happy because of how expensive things are and will have plenty of time to think about it while they’re unemployed. I think small business layoffs are coming first, with wall street not far behind.

Might cure obesity and get rid of junk plastic from overseas in one swoop. You won’t have money to buy shit products and we will have a surplus of corn and soy to keep the male estrogen levels up in cities.

Honestly, being rich in China is way more comfortable than being rich in America as long as you stay away from politics. Hate to say it, but most of LH would move in seconds if they can speak the language and make the same salary lol.

When did the CCP infiltrate LH?

I don’t agree.

I could see the opposite argument made regarding wealth/class and which you’d prefer, there’s a reason why rich from all over the world come over here , and why the US net has immigration whereas China has emigration.

Look man, I’m under no illusions that LH aren’t majority bums. In fact, it’s probably worse in here than gen pop lol. I’m sure there’s some people here that are willing to tough it out but most of us want the 7 series for the Honda civic price. We exploit loopholes and dealers daily. If you give a random here the option of living in luxury or some blue collar work, they’re going to fold quickly.

I mean if you’re going to fold your citizenship for cheaper cars to head to China…I think we just solved jobless federal workers crisis. I could even help point out the half of LH you can take with you…for free of course.

That’s a bad argument. China’s borders are closed tighter than the GM giving discounts at a Porsche Dealer in LA lol. I don’t mean illegal immigration. It’s impossible to legally immigrate to China. Especially if you’re not ethically Chinese. They don’t have jus soli, either.

Bro, 80% of this forum will sell their own families out for a cheap lease. You think citizenship papers going to stop them? Lmao.

And you think if they were open people would flock there? I don’t think so, esp folks with money don’t want to have to cater to the CCP.

Ya it’s not hard for me to see why an authoritarian regime could create an economic juggernaut but that doesn’t really mean it would be a desirable place to live.

I’m sure it’s decent if you’re a CCP party official much the same that being a Russian oligarch may be considered to be a sweet deal until you accidentally fall out of a window but someone with dough who just wants to live their life and be free, I’m not too sure China would be high on the list.

Oh no, probably not. Honestly, Singapore and the UAE are way better options. But it’s also not North Korea. Honestly, China is better than most of the SEA and probably even many European nations like UK and France. And I’m saying that as a Francophile lol
