I did a credit app on a used Escalade with low miles. Everything got approved and the dealer texted me today they are going to charge $4000 more since the car got “inspected”. I said okay what did you all do to make up that $4,000… “We are not at liberty to share”. I pulled the CarFax and shows legit just an oil change was performed.
Should I have the LH community have my back and leave bad reviews for this dealer? LOL!
I think they underestimated the selling price and got greedy.
What are my options here? I am still waiting on the call from the manager but I am sure he will give me some BS. I honestly thought once credit app is done and approved, they cannot change the price on it.
Car in question, was listed at 82,250 when I contacted them:
Is it a GM dealer? My best guess is that they CPO’ed the car and now it comes with the certified warranty. GM does charge to CPO and the dealer does not necessarily do a whole lot to meet the criteria.
Idc what was or wasn’t done; that is regardless and the price shouldn’t have changed imo. Unless there was some serious work required, in order for them to sell the vehicle (which I highly doubt).
I asked for the buyer’s order like 10 times. I got a story saying the finance guy quit so one of the sales managers will need to do it. I have screenshots of before/after once I contacted them and asked both the salesman and manager if the old price would be honored. Both of them said yes, we just raised the price because we got too many inquiries on it.
The salesman is blowing up my phone like we got 99% of the work done so what is the issue? I told him I am not dumb, you and the manager both said “you will get old pricing since we did credit app and was considered sold”
Pricing was at MMR wholesale value, which is why I contacted them… now it is $5,000 under KKB value. They got greedy thinking they could get more but they had 3-4 ppl come in person and all got declined according to the salesman.
I recently reviewed the invoice for my Escalade purchase and noticed an unexplained overcharge of $4000. Despite my previous requests, no detailed breakdown of this charge has been provided.
As a customer, I have the right to a full and transparent disclosure of all charges. Therefore, I am formally requesting an itemized invoice that clearly details all fees associated with my purchase.
Should I not receive this information promptly, I will be compelled to take further action. This may include filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the state’s Attorney General’s office, and relevant consumer protection agencies. I am also prepared to seek legal counsel to address any potentially unlawful practices.
I hope we can resolve this matter amicably and look forward to your immediate response.
Haaaa. I already contacted the corporate office and going to see what happens. I am sure I will get old pricing after some bad reviews left by fellow LH and my Instagram followers.
