Deal check: Volvo 2025.5 XC90 PlugIn Hybrid

Hi there! I am looking at the 2025.5 Volvo PlugIn Hybrid Ultra. I’ve never leased a car before, but the dealership is pushing us to lease (even if only for the first 3 months) to take advantage of the EV rebate of $7500. What should I be asking to get the best deal for this lease? I imagine we would like to finance the car at some point (even though it worries me that we won’t be able to get a rate as low as what they’re offering now for new at 3.99%). See the current lease offer. Should we lease to purchase OR finance? What should I be asking to get the best deal?

Glad that you found LH.

Now. Let’s relax.
This is bad time to lease XC90.
Are you open for different cars?
Did you look at signed section or marketplace here?

Leasing is all about timing and selection.

You unfortunately missed the boat on these. The best time was November and December last year

Deals likely will come around again when inventory start to pile up again. If you need something soon then pick something else

What makes it a bad time? Definitely not as good as late 2024, but the non PHEV seem to be leasing at decent numbers still.

Unfortunately want the 25.5 XC90 Plugin. Would Financing at 3.99% be a better bet?

What numbers are we comparing to Nov and Dec offers? Curious how much we’re off to what they’re offering today… Also wondering if financing at 3.99% would be a better idea.

The numbers are off by about $1,000. Per. Month.

The dealer is giving you $0 off the car and merely offering rebates that any other Volvo dealer can provide.

If you are unfamiliar with leasing, there’s a broker offering 10% off 2025.5 XC90 plugin hybrid you can easily go to. Then finance from a credit union/bank of your choice in 1-2months.

The effective cost will remain pretty high due to its high depreciation.

Are you open to any other brands?

In November my wife got a 2025 fully loaded XC90 for $500/month with zero drive off. The incentives aren’t nearly as good now, so you’ll be paying an outrageous amount. I would recommend finding a broker as they get you a much better deal than you were offered.

As someone else mentioned, you should be at minimum 9% off MSRP before any rebates start. They’re selling it to you at sticker :joy:

That only works for a hackable car.

Right now the XC90 isn’t.

If the brokers on here can do 9-11% deep before rebate, that’s the target for the average person. :man_shrugging:

Personally, if I was in the market, I’d just use a broker so I don’t have to put up with the dealers crap :joy:

A cryopod to sleep until the next round of Costco Volvo incentives

Hey, Any recommendations on what Luxury brands have better deals currently. Simmilar to the size of XC90. Thank you!

Please look at Marketplace here and signed section.
I think Infinity, MB GLE350, BMW X5.
Do you need a 3rd row?

Click on Marketplace … see the prices and decide for yourself. I don’t think there are any particularly good deals at the moment. December was a great time to lease a XC90 but it’s 100% the opposite now. If you can wait, then wait.

Last time I was in this predicament i ultimately decided to buy a Telluride for not much more than the cost to lease a GLS. And the stellar value retention of the Telly meant my net cost of ownership was a fraction. Sure, the GLS is nicer in some ways but it’s not 2x nicer let alone 4x.

Beauty, luxury, aesthetics, etc etc these things are in the eye of the beholder. And the definition of luxury has become very elastic. The leather in a higher trim Palluride is nicer than the MBtex inside a Mercedes. Shocking amounts of cheap plastic inside “luxury” cars these days.

Thank you. I agree. I had Kia for so many years.no issues. Just thought I could switch for a while for some known “luxury”. I still have time I’m in no rush. So maybe I should wait till the end of the year.

I don’t really need third row, but I would want it to have spacious second row to fit three adults comfortably. Thank you
