Deal Check - Suburban

Hey everyone - being offered this - not sure if good deal. 48 month is what scares me

2025 Chevy Suburban
MSRP 66,245
Payment - $910
Signing - 2900
Miles - 10k
Term - 48 months
$1,000 for additional 12 month warranty

as a follow up - the 66,245 is the sales price - base model

You got 6 kids? Maybe scale down to not a burban?

Isn’t the QX80 a better deal than a base Suburban?

I believe than can be had for cheaper than that and will probably be more loaded than a bare bones Chevy.

Apples and oranges in terms of utility if OP cares about that extra storage and seating. A QX80 isn’t even in the same class as a Tahoe let alone a Suburban.

Personally OP, I would just finance a new 24 Suburban and get a big discount vs. doing a 4 year lease on a barebones stripper unit for $900+ a month.

I see… I was under the impression that the QX80 would be in the same class as a Tahoe. Sometimes I forget how humongous the Suburban is.

+1 - Suburbans seem to hold their value well too.

@Abie_Gdanski - It seems you are paying sticker price? Have you shopped other dealers? Have you zeroed in on this particular unit because it is a Base Suburban LS? Does this have the bench seat in the 1st row?

Yea they are similar in length but the QX80 has 101 ft of cargo storage vs. the Tahoe’s 123 ft. The Suburban is a whole different league.

Why? Get familiar with the calendar before you do anything else. I can almost guarantee you going 48 vs 36 makes no sense. Also historically Tahoe has a better residual if you can do without the extra foot in length. If you’re going to spend this much go up one trim level.

Personally speaking I’d never take this.

The thing to understand about hacking is that it only applies to a handful of vehicles. You cannot hack what is unhackable.

The idea of spending $2,900 + $910x47 =$45,670.00 to essentially rent a vehicle, return it with zero to nominal equity, and rent again starting from scratch each time … that’s financial suicide IMO.

thanks everyone for the responses so far
chose this because trying to get in to suburban for lowest price. suburban and tahoe are bigger than qx80 - so was looking at either of those
the Tahoes they have are all higher trims so lease is much more.
this was base so was able to get a cheaper price -
the 48 month thing is kind of annoying but when i asked difference in price to make it 36 went up significantly.
by the way i should add - they are going to eat the 1k miles i have over in returning car and are going to change seats to leather with this price -

1k miles at 0.25/mi will be mice balls in the overall calculation.

Have you thought about a CPO purchase / finance or run the numbers on some of those options?

Obv it’s your money here.

Better to finance the Suburban for 5 years.

You need to shop multiple dealers. Also need to remove your current lease from the deal (have no clue what it is but always check to see if you have equity). Please just take a step back and spend sometime getting educated first unless you are ok with a bad deal.

Learn how to put your own deal together and use this…post link for feedback.

If you can’t or won’t do this you will lose thousands.

I was told the residual value on car (cost to buy at end of 48 months) is 39,000. Not sure if that helps.
2900 at signing
910 month
48 months
10k
Buy back at end 39k

I have negative value in my current lease

Nobody should be telling you anything…you should know what base MF is, what incentives are and what the RV for your term is…and you should be using that info along with expected discount to get a target payment…you also really need to be on top of your negative value (why not just ride that lease out until completion because I’m sure you are getting hosed there too?).

Learn how to lease first or find a broker to do it for you.

Very hard to believe the residual for 48 months is 58%. Rate finder has it in the 40s. As others have said you need to better understand all the inputs.

Neither here nor there … and changed nothing about the comments posted earlier.

Honestly pretty scary that you seem to be in over your head and just posted the same information again without really engaging in any of the discussion here.
