Deal Check - Lease for 2025 Wagoneer S Launch Edition

Hello everyone, here is the deal that I am looking to put together. Dealer is listing it 9% below MSRP, but I think I can get 10%. I’m counting about $11,880 in incentives. I have an affiliate Code and will ask about TDM codes. Are people still able to generate those? Jeep website is now directing folks to dealers. Will also ask about Conquest as I have a 2022 Hyundai Tucson.

What questions should I ask the dealer? I plan to email about the vehicle later this evening.

Am I missing any incentives?

Which zipcode are you in? I’m only seeing the 7500 + 1500 TDM in my area. Stellantis Acq fee is 995, not 595 that shows up in calculator.

My Zip Code is 98011.

Don’t put any value on what they have it listed for.

This x 1000, especially Dodge. Played this game back in April where I double checked over the phone and when I got there they said that the price only applies if took $3k in tint/protection/wheel locks.

Propose your own deal to the dealer and go from there.

Thanks for the great advice! I have contacted the dealer by e-mail, noted that I was part of the FCA US Affiliate Rewards program and made an offer at 12% below MSRP. Either way, I will play below Inventory price. Let’s see what happens!

Things are getting real. Here is what I have from the dealer…

Is this a good deal? I got them to take off another $5,552 off the selling price and removed some add-ons. I don’t quite know the money factor, and I think I am missing something there. RV checks out at 65%. I think the money factor is being bid up from .00064 as stated in Ratefindr.

For the sake of discussion let’s say this is a good deal for this exact specimen.

You’re at $650+ a month, which approaches double what a Limited should cost.

I’m getting hammered on the Money Factor. That will be the last lever I pull. They quoted 2.6% apr during the meeting. The calculator implies 5.6%.

I’m just suggesting that you consider the value question.

Also, and of course this is in a different state and it’s a 2024, but still.

Let’s be honest. People are only getting these because they’re cheap. Like $270 cheap with $2k das.

The discount looks strong until you realize that $3,000 of it is probably the factory coupons they are allowed to use. You want at least another couple of thousand off plus base money factor, which should put you in the mid threes. 10%+ tax rate obviously doesn’t help much but there’s nothing you can do about that, short of “moving” to Montana :joy:

@ElectricEliminator thanks for the coaching. I’m not sure if I have more wiggle room on the selling price. I asked about the Affiliate Rewards pricing and had them shave another $2,000 off the top (probably BEVs).

You are absolutely right on the MF! Base MF translates to ~1.5%, while they are trying to charge me 5.57%! It’s costing me $3 - $4k in finance charges. That will be my focus.

Be prepared to walk way from this deal. IMO, a Wagoneer S is not worth $6XX/month.

Dealer is not allowed to mark up the MF that much, so maybe they switched banks that offered a larger incentive to account for the higher MF. Ask them which bank they are using.

Super helpful. Going back today to hopefully wrap this up. Reducing monthly from $624 to $450 all in, $450 DAS. Will ask about the bank they are using.

Ideally you would have this wrapped up before you head over there and just be going to sign and take delivery. Have they agreed to this number? Have they sent you a deal sheet that shows it?

Yes. usually you agree to the numbers before going to the dealership. Otherwise it is a waste of everyone’s time.
Once you have your numbers, you should also email them to a lot of other dealers to see if someone can do better.

Not yet. I’m waiting to hear back from them before going back.

First timer here, so I appreciate the feedback.

Casting a wider net can be helpful too. Engaging with multiple dealerships and creating competition can help drive prices down. Right now this dealership seems to be bidding against themselves.
